As someone else pointed out TPB only track torrent files and dont moderate what is listed.
You do not seem to realise that TPB and all other 'pirate' torrent sites have flourished because of the content industries sheer greed and lack of understanding of what the consumer actually wants. Your game is small fry caught up in the drag net that is TPB drag net.
You can sit there and say that you are losing money but actually your game is probably going to get more exposure, especially now its been plugged on slashdot. Please do not use the fact that someone downloaded the content from TPB as evidence of a lost sale instead think of them as a potential future customer and ask yourself why didnt they buy the game and is there a way for you to get them to part with their cash in the future.
If you were hypothetically able to confront someone who always downloaded content from TPB you will probably find they will never pay for the game unless they really wanted it and had no other choice.
I am all for artists being compensated for their work but if the consumer does not see value in what they are paying for they will go elsewhere to find it cheaper or an alternative.
This is a huge topic covered in many articles and dont have time to go into depth on it.
i concur that the FUD on this slashdot topic is contemtable
i would also like to add that you would not require a pressure sensor, just placing a coil object that has a load would be enough for the pad to initiate power.
the other thing some people seemingly have no clue about it that every piece of cabling and transformer in your home generating a magnetic field when the 240V/110V travels through it (basic physics again) and to claim this device with generate dangerous EMF levels is just ludicrous.
with regards to the lower power efficiency claims this device would be more efficient because it would only use power when objects are placed on the pad and saves having many inefficient transformers plugged into wall sockets drawing power even when not charging.
oh and finally and to the person who mentioned about leaving the microwave open, do you realise that it actually produces radio waves in 2.4ghz range, the same as your cordless phone and wifi equipment just with much higher power output, in the 600-1000w range. a little research found this from the standards manufactures build to: 'The microwave leakage at any point 50 millimetres or more from the external surface of the appliance shall not exceed 50 watts per square metre'. So a normally working microwave is more dangerous than any other equipment and this pad is for charging (when in direct contact only) phones and ipods that use a hundredth of a microwaves power and even a television would only draw 60-150w power.
Most of these "Tailgaters" are tailgating ppl driving in the "passing lane". They really need to start ticketing these people then the tailgaters will not exist.
totally agree with this - here in the UK there seems to be a serious lack of understanding about the basics of motorway driving that creates a lot of the traffic problems and road rage.
i could go into a long rant but thought it better to share the link to the Association of British Drivers that has an excellent resource about these kind of issues: http://www.abd.org.uk/
Apple already use a single 4gb samsung part(K9NBG08U5M) in the 4gb nano and can easily make the nano hold 8gig using two of the 4gb parts and theres even a site out there has details on how to do this upgrade yourself using the old flash from a broken 4g nano. they can simply continue they agreement with samsung and install these chips at no real extra cost to themselves.
however the 10gb option is where journalists needed to do just a little research and realise that samsung do not have a larger flash part available and that 10gb is a very odd number to pluck out of the air when referring to flash memory that doubles with every generation. the only plausible way is that you could squeeze 2 x 4gb and 1 x 2gb into the nano but this seems far fetched as it would require apple to build new circuit boards plus i dont think there is the physical space.
if, scratch that, when apple release the 8gb nano i will certainly be thinking hard about buying it cos its almost a sweet spot for an on the go music collection. i realise ppl say of youve got 60gig of music but seriously do you listen to that ALL that music all the time. from what i seen of peoples music collections there is a core selection of music ppl love surrounded by other music they may listen to from time to time. if they are on the move they want the stuff they love with them but are not fussed if the likable music goes too.
