I just bought Tamil channels from Lycatv.tv. Some 50$ for three months. It comes with about 25 or so channels. And a few dozen new movie titles. All movies streamable on demand. The TV channels have one live feed from India, but the live stream is automatically archived every 30 minutes. The archive goes back one week. So any show in any channel in the last 7 days I could watch on demand! Very nice, no need to TiVo no need to set up stuff. Very nice.
But, there is nothing much worth watching in all the 25 channels and 100 movies, all ready to be streamed on demand! One social debate TV show and may be three movies would make the cut. I would rather watch Russian dash cam videos of truck crashes than any of this junk. Well, Mom is visiting, as long as she is here, just pay up and shut up.
Companies are people my friend, they have free speech rights and protection for religious beliefs. When the corporations become more powerful than the Government, or men with guns, the corporations will pay you in company scrip. And there will be no one to force the company to treat you better.

Most Indian body shopping companies recruit BE and BTech and avoid BSc candidates because of this. But vast majority of Indian college graduates have only an associate degree by US Standards. Most of them are not in the H1B pool, but there are some. Weeding out associate degree alone is not going to make any dent in the zeal and vigour of companies like TCS, Cognizant, Wipro or Infosys.
Sort the applicants by salary offered, from high to low and award based on that list. That will at least weed out those TCS Cognizant Wipro Infosys crowd that offer 65K but apply for thousands of position to game the lottery system.
Have you looked at the price of nicely integrated GPS from any car maker? And the cost to update the latest version of the maps? For my 2006 Toyota Prius GPS DVD would cost me 200$ to get one year old version. It was like this before the radio/stereo s became standardized. Sky high price for crappy radios.

If the Fortune 500 companies alone invested 1% of the license cost they were paying to Microsoft pooled the money and funded program to define and certify interoperability standards, (like for example SAE defining socket wrench definitions and oil properties like 10w-40) they would have benefited enormously. But no such thing happened and it looked like all was lost.
Then came up a new generation of executives who grew up with computers, and were not afraid of retraining boogeyman. Other products came in, and top executives buying the cool Macbook did more to force Microsoft to be standard compliant than most of our shouting. Active Directory must be able to authenticate Apple products, iphones,and then androids. Open Office trying match bell for bell and whistle for whistle had such tough time. Google docs with one new feature, collaborative editing across network with latencies, made it compelling. Docs, even now, can only do a fraction of MsOffice or OpenOffice, but it meets the need of 90% of the people all the time, and the rest 90% of the time.That was enough to counter Microsofts attempts to skew the playing field.
This fake news etc are frustrating for us older generation to understand and fight. But the younger generation growing up with twitter and snapchat all the time, with fragmented clusters in facebook, will develop their own ways of adjusting credibility and their own ways of authenticating and calibrating the information sources. So I think, and hope, and pray, it is overblown.

3. Change the server naming scheme every six months.
4. Insist on manager approval for every tiny IT ticket. Even if the person requesting has authority to approve identical requests from his/her reportees.
5 Configure VPN such that even people with FiOS and 75 mbps connections can not get more than 1 mbps.
I pulled my data out of the cloud and put it on a file server. It doesn't need to live 24/7 on the Internet.
