But they basically did. They make everyone virtually strip down naked with their technology. Sure you dont have to physically remove your clothes, but that makes no difference.

  4. Re:Real Reason on Is Samsung Blocking Updates To Froyo? · · Score: 1

That is very true. Even in the U.S. Sprint just went through and bricked close to 15% of their Samsung Intercept phones when they pushed 2.2 OTA. Samsung then went back and released a fix for the issue which bricked another 10% of phones on top of the existing 15%. It seems XDA are the only people on the planet who can release reliable firmware for Samsung phones, even more so then the manufacturer.

  5. Phidgets on Real-Time Power Monitoring Options? · · Score: 1

I have been using a custom Phidgets for the past couple years to monitor electrical usage in my house. I have one of these http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?category=8&product_id=3503 to monitor each branch circuit in my electrical panel. I then have http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?category=0&product_id=1018 this connected to my main pc to do all the data logging. I have written a custom c++ application to dump the raw data into a mysql database and then i have PHP to query data and datasets for reporting. This comes close to your budget if you only need to monitor a couple circuits. If you monitor all 26 of your branch circuits in your house, then this can become fairly expensive compared to your budget however all the other electrical monitoring agents you will find will be several THOUSAND dollars for some "professional enterprise data center solution" to do the same amount of logging and same features which the phidgets can do for 1/10 the price. Instead of spending $10,000 you spend maybe $500 for the same or better features and compatibility.

What state is Delaware in? Isn't it just a county South of Philadelphia? The wind power will be used to keep the chickens cool in the summer, and warm in the winter, because everybody knows, nobody lives in delaware except the Banks,Duponts, and Chicken Farms (Tyson, Purdue, etc)

  10. Simple Answer... on Avoiding Liability While Fixing Employee PCs? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Follow the same rules and procedures the big stores do when they service pc's (think Staples, Compusa, and Geek Squad)... get mangement to have the contractors sign a agreement saying "we give up right to sue for lost data and malpractice, we give up right to sue for everything and anything including neglegence blah blah blah"

And rememind the contractors BEFORE they bring in their pc's that illegal adult materials must be reported to the FBI for persecution.(so if they have a kiddie porn collection dont bring the pc in to get fixed) You wouldnt belive how many customers who would bring in their pc's to me back when i worked at the sweatshop called compusa would hear that warning, pick up their pc, walk out, and come back the next day without the offending files.

The real liability is dataloss, because it is impossible to defend against if they claim you wipe out 10 months of files (which were never there to begin with) and the going rate for REAL datarecovery (ISO Clean rooms) is like $900 per GB (multiply that by a 160 or 200gb hard drive and you got a major problem)

  11. IPCOP on VPN Solutions for Small/Medium Businesses? · · Score: 3, Informative

Hey. We run a medium sized ISP out of wilmington, delaware and we have hads GREAT luck using IPCOP and Linksys BEFSX41 endpoints. The linksys routers are easy to setup and configure and they can be bought cheaply on ebay or any staples or compusa. IPCOP is completely linux based , The setup is more idiot proof then a windows install, and it has a web based admin which rivals standard stand-alone routers. Ipcop can run on tons of hardware configurations. We personally run it with 5 Network cards and it handles the VAST MAJORITY OUR OUR ROUTING needs. did i mention ipcop is free? Give it a try.
