After a cursory look it seems like an foundation more interested on marketing and policies than in code. I actually had to look hard in order to find the project list.
Am I right to assume that there are only 6 projects?
I'd like to point out that the fact that perl allows this kind of aberration doesn't mean it enforces or promotes it.
In fact, that code (or a very similar one) can be written in other languages, such as ruby.
This just points out that the programmer in question had serious issues in understanding fundamental concepts such as maintainability, and was more interested in amusing himself than in doing a professional job.
The credit on K&R doesn't mean a thing if you program like that on a day-to-day basis.
First of all: No Spanish worker will call his boss "sir". That's very much anti-Spanish. Just to give you an example: a recent unofficial competition asked Spanish people to come up with lyrics for the Spanish national Anthem (which is lyric-less). One of the candidates had the following text:
"Un jefe muy cabrón / soy un buen español"
Which translates to:
"A very bastard boss / I'm a good Spanish citizen"
Also, we use expletives when giving/receiving bad news. They are solely lacking on your text.
An intelligent citizen would find ways to replace their stupid lawmaking weasels with more suitable stupid lawmaking weasels. (snip) dictators (snip) co-operate (snip)
That's not intelligent, that's idealistic, unrealistic and inefficient.
Doing what you say requires organizing lots of people. Meetings. Public appearances. Publicity. And funding for all that. And you get less work done in the meantime, so you'll likely get less income during the process, which can take years. And you may put yourself or your family in danger.
On this case, being a "delinquent", on the other hand, just requires you to continue doing what you were doing. You just need to be a little more careful about who you tell and what you say about your business. In my view that is the intelligent choice, by far.
I don't see how a "self eployed person that outsources book-keeping and tax-filling" is the same as a "full-fledged company with a dedicated bookkeeper", which is what the law demmands, according to the article.
That means another salary. For the accountant. No external thing. So that's no fair game, it's just ridiculous.
The new Acer Aspire Revo comes with a dual-core Atom 330, 4GB RAM and the option of 500GB HD. It comes with windows vista, and you can install ubuntu on it if you so desire. It comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard, which the Mac Mini lacks.
On the usual places you will find it for around $400 / €350, and if you search a bit more and don't care having a chinese keyboard, you can find it for €50 less.
It's a much better suited option for the living room than this expensive piece of hardware.
They will work illegally. No big deal. That's what any intelligent citizen of any country does when their lawmaking weasels start cranking stupid laws like that.
"So, if you hold an iPhone at the typical 30 cm from your eyes, that works out to 477 pixels per inch. At 20 cm inches it's 716 ppi. You have to hold iPhone 4 out about 45 cm before it falls to 318 ppi."
If they want lag behind technologically, that's their prerrogative.
Maybe I do.
You remind me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh2sWSVRrmo
If we are moving away from unreadable, I'd suggest JSON or YAML, not xml.
With 100+ cores we should start considering leaving Von-neuman behind.
Separated memory/processing/instructions/registers would stop making sense. We would have to follow another model. I don't know which.
Please use more than one paragraph next time.
lol. no.
From the article:
"... Not to be confused with Codeplex.com"
I think we both have been looking to different sites. Sure, codeplex.com has lots of projects. But this article is not about it.
Also, FYI: I happen to have suffered eye surgery. As a result, my vision is better than average.
You will have to pass the Apple Developer Approval program before being allowed to know that.
Javascript deactivated? Overzealous firewall?

Seriously, six?
Meh. Call me when they have 600.
(Goes back to github).
Sourceforge's engine is closed source.
I asked.
You can't make "code submissions" to it.

You can probably also afford to send me money. A couple grands would suffice. Pocket change for you.

They are communists, but just with government's money. Theirs is theirs.

There's one certain blog post that is screaming for a hacker hijack.
Planes will not be allowed to move until the pilots say "Engage".
Then, when the parents complained, change it to $%! or whatever.
In other news: the space shuttle UI is too complicated for regular car drivers! duh.
