Some civil service jobs require a clearance; your agency will get you one. To get you working early, they may grant an interim clearance.
Government contractors who create or handle classified information have to pay for a clearance for each employee that needs one, except for those who have had an equivalent or higher-level clearance in the previous 2 years.
The last I heard, from a job recruiter (YMMV), a SECRET clearance costs $80K and there's a 250K person waiting list. No wonder contractors will stop just short of kidnapping to get cleared employees...
Why bother with Mach 3.32 and all that cost, when you can orbit a U-2 over or near a hot zone? It's a lot cheaper, and with satellite data links you get real-time information. It's a good gap filler between satellites and UAVs.
Better crash than overbill. My first time through, the total was $6 over, as suspected by me, and verified by a store clerk who'd seen it enough that she kept a calculator with her.
Originally, 'creative destruction' meant reallocation of capital to uses that generated higher return. But, in the context of a weblog of the boom, maybe it means 'creative means of capital destruction.':-(

I was listening to Ronn on KGO today. Someone named Chip called on Tuesday and claimed credit for tipping Howard off. An emailer (forgot name) called to counter-claim that she'd been emailing and calling Howard's staff for a week. Ronn did publicize Michael's appeance, so it's possible. Also, at the start of Tuesday's show Ronn said Michael wouldn't take calls but might be forced to.
I heard Howard and Michael live on KGO Tuesday. Ronn Owens mentioned it's off of KGO's web site. Here is a link to his own site:

Howard and Michael were on for 14 minutes. Ronn apologized to the listenership today (Oct. 27) for being a bit sleepy, becuase he'd been awakened at 3:30 AM PDT to do 10 minutes on Howard's show. Ronn said Howard was "as nice as could be."
Anyone have a link for Ronn's appearance on Howard's show?
For solving quantum mechanical problems (see the link to my resume), I prefer matrix mechanics. Imagine trying to find the wavefunction that describes the quantum mechanical behavior of a molecular cluster! But, with matrix mechanics, you don't have to.
2*10^10 = 20 * (10^3)^3 = $20 billion
Regarding your friend, since NSA (USA) and GCHQ (UK) have a close working relationship, it could be a special case.

Define "better," please.
If so, it obviously didn't work...

First, the Red Sox win.
Second, Bush the son wins a second term -- unlike his father, and unlike John Quincy Adams or his father.
...when Clinton won, nobody talked about civil war.
No, that's true. But there was a lot of talk about the culture wars...

The Truman Show.

I believe it was something unique to the self-checkout system as I had never noted a math error in the usual manned checkout lanes.
Vostok always went orbital, from the first lauch. It was Mercury that didn't.
Gagarin orbited before Shepherd sub-orbited.

Which hemisphere gets the positive?
It should say "Given: x = y"
The fault comes in dividing by x-y, which is dividing by 0.
