I went to high school with one of the founders of Excite. He took his science and math classes at the university (conveniently just a mile and a half from the high school), and took AP humanities classes with the rest of us. Seemed to work okay for him.
I also went to college with someone who started college at age 13. He's now a community college professor.
I agree that what we put online should be conscious. That said, people have intentionally set up whatever is automatically publishing to Facebook. I have a Facebook account and actually use it for a active group (works like a forum, kind of like Slashdot), and to look at pictures of friends' kids. Facebook does not know my real email address, the contents of my address book, my phone number, or where I'm eating lunch.
I'm not sure why anyone thinks FB should know where you are, but there are people who enjoy these features (bless their hearts). Of course, everyone else blocks these people...
I agree completely - I took calculus and AP physics in high school, and again in college. I found the two together were quite helpful in understanding concepts and I'm glad I learned them, even though I couldn't integrate to save my life at this point.
I commute on a street that every 10th parked car has usually been slammed into (because it's very narrow, has lots of parked cars, pedestrians, and three schools in 10 blocks, and people go 45-50).
I once had someone gun it to try to pass me on the right through an intersection and they nearly slammed into the parked cars because they underestimated how slow I was going - only 5 mph over speed limit. (I had assumed when they pulled right that it was to make a right turn.)
There's definitely some truth to this - I went to college with someone who had finished high school at age 13, and the effect on his social skills was pretty apparent. And social skills are pretty essential for most employment options (although I forget myself - this is Slashdot).
We've had a miserable time with Apple Enterprise Sales - we finally gave up because it was so much more difficult to purchase that way, and so many mistakes were made.
There hasn't been a 1-button mouse for some time now... since 2005, I believe. Of course, you can set the mighty mouse to act as a 1-button mouse if you prefer.
No, they are talking about 300W halogen floor lamps (single halogen bulb fixtures). There are even 500w halogen bulbs.
Google Halogen 300w and you'll find the bulbs.
My box of Kleenex has a warning (no joke): "It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Use only as a facial tissue."
Makes me wonder what else I could be doing with my Kleenex...
South Korea: Population: 48,846,823
Greater Boston - DC corridor: the Washington-Baltimore-Northern Virginia Metropolitan Area surpasses 8 million, and Boston-Worcester-Manchester Metropolitan Area is about 7.5 million. Adding some for in between, and South Korea still has at least twice the population.

Don't underestimate the value of socialization.

I always thought it was the men who can't read maps (or ask for directions)...
