The Wordpress developers probably never heard of functions, because every file is one big piece of lineair code. It offers no secure API for plugins, hence the very long list of insecure plugins. Wordpress is nothing more than a piece of junk that should be avoided by EVERYONE!

It is a computer system. Like *every* computer system, it has flaws and one of those flaws can be a security flaw. The real issue is how the flaw is being handled. One can deny it, one can secretly fix it or one can take responsiblity, inform its users and fix the issue. The last is the only correct way and it is the way the DigiD issue was handled. So, no 'real-life consequences', just another side effect of the digital age. It will soon be solved and live goes on. Nothing to see, move along.

Use the Banshee PHP framework on the Hiawatha webserver. Both have a strong focus on security and offer good speed.
Use stuff like Drupal, Joomla and Concrete5 if you want your website to be extremely slow. Use Wordpress if you want guarantee to be hacked.

A simple 'grep' told me that this framework has 820 PHP files. I know the Solar site holds lots of documentation, but to know and understand a framework, I want to see what the code looks like. Just to get an idea of its quality and security. With 820 files, there is no way I'm every even going to give it a try.
In my opinion, it should take less time to understand a framework than it takes time to build your own simple framework. This framework, with its many files and 'complex' structure and object extending, definitly failed on that one. Another one for my ignore list.
