I thought you had to pay for the 'community' Snort policies? I played with it a while back (I'm just a geek - I have no expertise, use case, or anything) and found that I wasn't even able to import the definitions though they claimed I could during my trial period.
I was, it seems, doing it wrong. That's not surprising but if I don't poke and break then I am not learning. If I am not learning then I am not growing. If I am not growing then I serve no function. If I am serve no function I have no place. If I have no place I should not consume resources. So, I try to learn and grow even if it's just to geek out on something new.
Two thirds of "pun" is "P-U." (Best said aloud.) Either way, that was wrong and you should feel bad. Cod as my witness, if you do that again, I'll beat you until you flounder on the floor. You dirty bass-tard.
Then there are others of us. I sometimes spend a couple hundred dollars a day donating to sites that have helped me or given me a service that I appreciate. Then there are groups like the EFF who get a goodly sum. Go ahead, put your 'please donate' button on there and I just might. I actually sometimes contact web site authors just to see how I can send them a donation because they've not given me an easy way to do so.
I kind of feel it's my social obligation to give back to those who give to me or others.
That's kind of my point. I've seen some articles that praised it but that doesn't mean I've seen them saying anything good about it. I mean, yeah, they might have thought they were saying good things about it but I've not interpreted it that way. "Look, our dog shit is going to come in new colors and you'll love the flavor!"
I did, indeed, read it and you can be pretty certain that the code has been reviewed time and time again. You're free to go take a peek. If you can't then sit down and let the adults discuss it.
Meh... They'll just put their servers on US soil. Then the onus is on the EU to prevent access if they want. Reality is that this will probably mean nothing in the end.
Which is why you're welcome to fork it. If you're unable or unwilling then you are subject to someone else's will. Such is obvious and correct. Use what suits your needs/wants. There's no obligation to do your work for you.
There's no hand waving required. The source is available. Why not download it and have a peek? You'll be famous if you find what you're claiming is there.
On paper they're usually called an interchange though sometimes they're called intersections. Your local highway department will have the drawings and associated documentation (and perhaps a study) available if you want to review them.
Sure you can. You just have to 3D print it. The technology is already there or just right around the corner - it will be here in six months. This is revolutionary and will change the dynamics! Coupled with a webscale P2P integration process and a community driven knowledge base we will see bottom-up social changes ensuring protection for the marginalized classes and the impoverished alike!
I've been on the 'net since the days where we dialed in to individual BBS hosted either by businesses or the guy down the street. I even ran one for a while. There has never been a time of civility on the 'net except maybe while it was the larger net provisioned by ARPA and was in the academic sphere. Even there, it was still subject to some rather offensive content and not a place for people with thin skins.
Legality hasn't a damned thing to do with it. They're perfectly free (and should be) to make their own rules up. You are perfectly free to not use their services. In fact, if you agree to their terms of service by clicking an accept button/box then you are quite likely legally liable. See Nguyen v. Barnes & Noble for more information.
No TV, Twitter, Facebook, etc... Also, a lot of good bands turn to shit when they get popular. I actually have great respect for Jane's Addiction who broke up simply because they were getting too popular and that wasn't their goal - they just wanted to make good music and have fun, not start a movement.
I can get an Uber any time of the day or night to take me where I want to go. An Uber shows up within 5 minutes - always. If I call the taxi company for a cab, one may or may not show up between 45 minutes and an hour - if one shows up at all. Uber drivers are held accountable for the condition of their cars, their appearance, their personality. Taxi drivers stink, are rude and their cars are always a mess. I would never use a taxi. I always use uber.
Better yet, for the world traveler, Uber works in pretty much all major cities, tied to the same account. No messing around with local vs foreigner rates, tipping, blah blah blah. Just get in and GO. Then get OUT when you arrive. I HATE arguing with cabbies over fares, rates etc etc. it's absurd. Uber gets rid of all that and gives me a simple interface and one point of billing. If Uber was forced out of my city, I'd go buy a car rather than use Taxis.

It's just misinformed whinging for the sake of whinging. We used Cisco gear. We replaced it with Juniper because it was much less expensive.
It would be awesome if Slashdot did a Snowden interview. I'd throw some funds at it if it were possible.

*sighs*
I'm not proud.
I want to know if it can solve the N Problem. *nods* Or, really, if it can be used to play Crisys.

78 to 100 Planck lengths.
I get all my science from Morgan Freeman, thank you very much.

While true, beer and circuses go a long ways to pushing that into the future.

Actually, the fault goes way back to the League of Nations which, though proposed by as I understand, the US was not actually a member of.
Linus is the honey badger of kernel development? Eh doesn't afraid of anything!

We're small voices in a very large crowd.

My name is Pixiedust Warslayer, you insensitive clod!

In short, just don't use them. It's not hard.
Ah look, it's rubycodez again. You should take your meds.
Pfft! I was a hipster before it was cool.
