I am actually sort of surprised that there is no Apple branded automobile. The precedent is already there. One of my cars is an L.L. Bean branded Outback and there are other examples including Bauer editions. I am truly expecting one. I sort of expected it to be a Prius or a Cooper Mini - trendy (of course).

Disclaimer: I have a buttload of AAPL in my non-play portfolio and got it while Jobs was away/just coming back. I do not use their products much or at all really.

I concur that *IF* it happens it is going to be locked right down - akin to China. However, the speculation was if they would skip cell phones. Cells can be firewalled as easily as anything else. So, if they were to do it then I would expect cell phones to be a part of that changing dynamic.

Raul seems to be, well, better in a lot of ways. He, too, is near passing. There's a slim chance of change with the next in power. I do not see Raul being that person. I believe it is one of his sons that would be next? I am not sure and I do not think they have ever made a public announcement. Hopefully it is not a military takeover.

They are obviously not thinking this through. I admit that I have only been to Cuba twice but, well, I suspect that is more than most but it does not make me an expert.

First, there are lots of remote people - comparatively. Second, some of them live in some rather extreme terrain. Look at how long Castro was able to hide from Batista's army... Those mountains and jungles are still there. There are still people there.

Yes, they *can* skip cellular. No, they won't. Why the hell would they? They may be a small island on a map but, really, they are bigger than that - those are just scaled maps... Sheesh... It is not pink like it is on the map either. ;) It is not like their entire population lives in one area and that area is bigger than a thumb. Sheesh again.

Anyhow, there is some issue with the country nationalizing and taking stuff. I do not think anyone is going to get their money back, however. The mafia lost some money and there are some rumors that it was hidden and never recovered from a couple of documentaries that I have watched. That should be, as well as the lawsuits, an interesting side show. I would expect some sort of agreement that says the nationalization resulted in a loss of property and that there is no recovery method even through the courts. At least I hope that is how it goes. Otherwise the courts will be tied up with idiocy of that nature and will be quite expensive due to the likely lack of information, time that passed, and a mixture of laws as well as American unfamiliarity with the laws. They are NOT going to let the legal actions take place on American soil. Not even a chance of that happening no matter who is in charge.

Meh... So far, I am liking Raul. Fidel was awesome but, frankly, he was also a dick. We, on the other hand, were far worse than he ever was. We were also more stupid. But, in our defense, we did have some hilarious assassination and coup plans and attempts.

Oddly, they are also a good source of information about Gamergate. I would not roam far away from that/those search terms. They are not meant for polite company. It is like /b/ leaked to the rest of the Internet. I have visited 4chan... *sighs* I stayed for a month or so to see what the fuss was about. This was way way back and they have actually improved, by some metrics, as well.

    But, I digress...

I should like to see your Wiki hack and will be looking forward to it. You know they have live snapshots, right? Assuming I have everything configured, I should be snapshotting the main page on that date. I hope for lulz. I also hope you used a VPN or a proxy. DHI will almost certainly assist a lawful order to reveal your IP address and I am almost certain that they never thought to hash it though, I suppose, that could be brute forced.

Good luck Brave Anonymous Coward and Buddha speed!

By the way, if you do this? I will donate $1000 USD to the Wikipedia Foundation (after you are done stealing their money). I kind of like them. However, I do think it would be funny. Just make sure that you stop when you are done so we can keep going. Good luck living in Russia. Also, enjoy your time in prison. That too will be funny to me. I hope you get a Russian prison tattoo while you're in. Those are nifty. You should get a cathedral, you'd be allowed a spider's web, you can get at least a ring. and you may be able to get the star on your shoulders or knees - go old school and get Stalin on your chest too. Also, get the "general" stars on your knees instead of your shoulders. They are much more valid on the knees in my opinion. Make sure to use your own urine, of course. But, good luck in prison unless you have already prepared to donate some of your "winnings" to Putin.

What? So I like Russian prison tattoos. I like all tattoos with a story. It is tough to find good information about them but, damn it, I try. There was one couple who collected the skin (after they died) but I do not think they ever published the book and, really, I do not want the skin.

You wrap the cuff around their bicep. You turn the knob and then turn it again so that you have finally locked the value. Nope, turn it again.
You pump the bulb up enough to make the wearer wince in pain - that should be good.
Cram the scope under the cuff above the joint.
You release the air with the knob too quickly so you put it back in - again, wincing is required.
    Cram the scope back in.
Let the air out more slowly.
    Listen and watch the gauge.
When you hear thump thump thump - note the number on the gauge.
    Let more air out. Slowly...
When the thump thump thump noises stop note the number on the gauge.
Smile and nod at the patient but do not tell them anything.

I learned this when I was a young Marine. I am pretty sure it is standard practice.

Anyhow, the scope is kind of required. It lets you hear the thump thump thump noise. They probably do not have expensive equipment in the middle of a war zone. Well, no. They probably do not have expensive medical equipment. I can just see them pushing around the little cart with the attached cuff and thermometer to reach injured soldiers. Those little wheels will do well on uneven surfaces and standing up will certainly not make them a target. They can just put a red cross on it and nobody will think that makes an excellent target.

Later, I will tell you how to do injections.

I am no expert in Panamanian culture but it seems to be accepted, even by the general populace. I have spent a bit of time in the area and greasing palms is how you get things done. Hell, it is how you function. Add an extra $100 to your gas money expenses just to travel. Carry gifts and currency. Carry AMERICAN currency. I have driven around in a giant RV (which they can really make a mess of but don't - they are out of sight and can more easily accept a gift or a cash payment) with way too many drugs in me and on me.

The important thing seems to be to know about it. I had good travel tips before doing any of this but still asked the locals. I am sort of fluent in Spanish but I know enough to flub it and pretend I do not understand. That, too, comes in handy. When they talk amongst themselves and mention getting more money from me then I know it is time to reach around and find some additional documentation to help prove that I am allowed to be there.

If you are going to carry drugs (and there does not seem to be much reason to go there otherwise - for me, though the people are awesome and honest) then hide them but do not make them look hard for them. In my case they are usually in the small fidge that my RV has. I invite them in, let them look around, offer them my documentation and, if need be, offer them a drink. They see the drugs and I give them more documentation. We shoot the shit, they speak English well enough, and they do not tear my shit apart. Some of them even do drugs.

I do not do any more opiates because I am tired of being addicted. Well, I still do my Suboxone. I still do sometimes go south and get a big pile of coke and have myself a hell of a good time. I sometimes smoke a little weed but, frankly, I get better weed here in Maine than I do in that area.

Do not bring firearms and do not attempt to bring things back across the border. Bringing stuff back requires a lot more work and a whole lot more documentation. Think of it as a holiday only just bring back t-shirts. Also, bars are an excellent source of information. I do not drink so I still go to bars if I need to find something and am not in the right area. Again, you will need money for information but, believe it or not, you can really (usually) trust the people.

I wanted to design my current home as a geodesic dome. I had great plans and then, loving math, I decided to look at how much usable space I would have. Instead I went with a envelope salt-box with a SSE facing long side for solar panels and on a hill where I have enough wind to make the gods squint their eyes...

I own an obscenely large RV (and even tow a car behind it) and it too has solar and a windmill on a mast. It is probably almost as efficient as this device is. I like the idea. I hate the results. Maybe I am nitpicking? Maybe I do not have enough information?

There are countless ways, some already designed, to make a shipping container into a serviceable full-time home. This can be done at reasonable costs and with great results. Maybe I am a grump old asshole with few redeeming qualities but, damn it, I expect better than this.
