I watched a video on YouTube where a guy was firmly refusing to let the cops in his house to search it for someone they had a warrant for. He was well within his rights to do so and the cops were continuing to try to cajole him into allowing them to enter to search. Anyhow, this kid had a thick southern accent and was acting rather nervously. The cops asked him why he was nervous and that is when I heard one of the best lines ever...

"Y'all got a toolbelt designed to kill me. Of course I am nervous!"

I am not sure that it fits threaded here in the conversation but your post reminded me of the Just Us department and their enforcement arm. I can not remember the name of the video nor find the link. I still find it one of the best real-life lines I have come across.

I will try to keep this short.

The only self-driving vehicle I would want would be my RV. It is huge and I have to tow a car behind it because it really sucks to drive an RV in the city. Do not get me wrong, your tax dollars taught me to drive quite well. I can back up a deuce and a half with two water bowls towed behind it. I can even slalom it between the cones.

However, in a city, you have to use reverse once in a while. This is most easily accomplished by pulling into something with a large enough space and making your turn there. This, while visibly obvious, does not stop someone from pulling in behind you and stopping. Even in a fairly large area, they could easily go around, they will do this. Or they will pull up along side you and stop. Not only are you driving a long and unwieldy vehicle you are towing a car behind you... Three feet to your left is now a person sitting idle in a small Honda.

You can wave them on. You can wait. Of you can backup until you are nearly hitting them and hope they move. You can get out of the vehicle and go explain but, during that time, another two people pull into the vacant lot and proceed to occupy more space without actually, you know, doing anything except waiting for you to move - except you are not able to move because there are now three cars in your way.

Then again, I am not sure if I want the RV to be autonomous or if I want the other cars to be autonomous so that I do not have to encounter such things. It would be nice to program in my next destination and climb into the back to poke buttons on a computer while watching the world pass by through the windows. On the other hand, I really enjoy driving - it is the drivers that can not drive that I do not like. The only accident I have been in, recently, was where some idiot backed into the side of my car while they attempted to do a three point turn - on a bridge.

I can only speak for myself. I seldom make comments to argue something as trivial as a video. In fact, I guess, I never do. I can see no reason to argue the point with someone who thinks that their opinion carries a weight higher than that of the owners of the property. If you do not like it then you do not like it. There is absolutely nothing I could say to change your mind so why would I waste the effort? However, it is faulty logic to assume what you dislike is normative. We, at this site, will complain about the slightest dislike. You can rest assured that if more folks did not like it there would be more complaints. I typically see less than a half dozen complaints in threads with videos.

I suspect that the best option, of course, would be to just avoid articles about things you do not like or containing things you do not like. I have found this to be the best solution, at least. Your mileage may vary.

I am also of the correct political party for my area - Independent. So, yes, I am quite likely to win even with financing it on my own. This would not be effective in a national race though. You can do it with a dynamic IP address if you want to use one of the many free domain name/IP address updating services. It is a little more difficult to configure and usually involves running a small client on your end but it can be done. This is obviously not the route I recommend but it is possible. I do find it odd that my ISP does not advertise that they give out static IP addresses by default. I have had the same IP address for years. I have another line (two actually) and have called to have one of them swapped out for a different one. I can call and ask for any number of emails and they will just give them to me, or so I am led to believe. I have never tested this theory.

They wanted me to have an email address with them to use to communicate with me. I pointed out that any such email address would potentially be unreachable if I had an issue that required me to connect with them. I never did set up an email address with them and I do not intend to do so in the future. I actually have no contact email address on file as far as they are concerned. I would recommend checking your dictionary. Any dictionary will do, for the most part.

Unfortunately, in this case, artists have signed their rights away in order to get the values offered by the labels. Apple negotiates with the labels (or artists if they have not signed away their rights and Apple things they are important enough to consider) and the labels make the choices. The artists have no say in this, nor should they. They have contracted their rights away (not all contracts are equal, obviously, and those who retain their rights have a say) and the people who own those rights are legally entitled to make any/all choices.

I am not saying that I agree with this practice. I am saying this is how things are.
