Now that is interesting. The ramjet I was thinking about and linked to would probably get someone into space if one had enough fuel. They are not very complex and work best at high speeds. The V1 had a lot in common with a ramjet as well IIRC. They scale well is my understanding but I do not know how well they would do in space with the added weight penalty from having to carry their own oxygen.

That is probably a better way to phrase it. It lends to the idea that the founding fathers actually DID want to ensure we were able to arm ourselves as a way to help prevent government tyranny. What I dislike is the virtual banning of certain firearms. I can buy (and own) a fully automatic AK-47. The tax stamp puts it out of the reach of nearly everyone. I do not intend to harm anyone with it and the about the only time it comes out of the safe is when I take it to the disabled vets "machine gun shoot." I had the chance to buy a Thompson for $7500 but I did not realize what it was worth or I would have bought it to hold as an investment.

In a scientific term, our atoms may be used in new life and information can not be destroyed. Is that reincarnation? I am not an authority nor should you listen to an authority. Think it through on your own or seek more answers. The great thing about Buddhism is it fits anything - I am, in fact, an atheist. I am also a Buddhist. The two reconcile nicely even in the Tibetan Buddhism realm.

I have had my papers in to make a return trip to Nepal and go on refuge. I am afraid that I will be denied this time due to the earthquake. I may go to India or even Australia instead. I plan on taking my Sarma as they have only been to Nepal when they were much younger so that may be part of the hold up but it seems unlikely.

Your UID indicates that you have been here for a minute. Your posts, to my mind, are more likely to contain salient and beneficial content. This is OBVIOUSLY not true in every case nor does this assume that higher UIDs lack quality by default. So yes, it stands to reason that you would have been called out on your statement and it stands to reason that you are absolutely correct. I, for one, likely read your post and knew it to be true or very likely true as my memory is not that bad and my ego is not that high.

What would surprise me, and I do this often enough but I seem to be abnormal for doing so, would be seeing those people visit this thread to find your post so that they can publicly acknowledge their mistake, having learned something, and issuing an apology or thanking you.

I was on a partial merit scholarship so I had to maintain anything higher than a B- average. I was lucky enough to attend a very good middle and high school (see Kent's Hill if you are curious), this was a great catalyst for my future. So, I had to learn what made me learn well, this is much easier in a low teacher-to-student environment, and the introspection really helped me to determine how my brain worked.

If I read a novel it is gone from memory quickly. If I read to study then it is gone fairly rapidly. If I can get my hands on or do some solving then I retain it for a long time. Sometimes taking notes is as much a hands-on as I need.

I disagree and would like you to provide an citation that the majority of musicians are producing on their own without a record label AND are "doing well" which we can easily assume to be defined as making their entire income from said music. I could find no such evidence and thus will assume the status quo is still in effect until I have evidence to the contrary.

  24. Re:Preserving is not the right word on Artist Uses 3D Printing To Preserve Artifacts Destroyed By ISIS · · Score: 1

Yes, yes it was. I am guessing you know that my post was in jest and just want to whine. That is okay, I am happy to help you. However, I would suggest that you write 'My Negative Mind' on a rock and drop it into a deep river and then go on retreat. A Dharma is willing to help teach you how to throw away the past and negatives. A rock is only heavy when you carry it, when you set it down it is light to you. Holding on is not beneficial, it is not healthy for you, and is not going to help you with your karma. Do not take my word for it, I am not making an appeal to authority, but look inside yourself and then make your choices.

As the Buddha suggests, be happy to be in your situation and you will be free. You can not be free if you carry that much baggage. Still your mind and be content with what you are being given. Throw everything out (no, not your personal possessions but the things that become words when you try to concentrate or meditate) and you will have no burden to carry. Your thoughts will be clearer, good things will happen as karma does that, you will not be returning as a lower life form (if you return), and you will be closer to enlightenment.

So, even if you intentionally did not read what I wrote as it was intended (or you are intellectually limited) , I am still happy that you lashed out and I hope that it made you feel better for a short term. As I truly care about humanity (you impact more than yourself) I hope you seek refuge in the three jewels (Buddha, Dharma, and Sarma) and a decent physical refuge if you feel that they are right to you. You are free to walk in and you are free to walk out. Long-term happiness comes from inside you and how you think. Do not let knowledge cloud your morals. Do not accept an appeal to authority - do your own work. Sarmas are good people and would make an acceptable start for many people.

I wonder if that is true or will be true in the majority of the cases. There are some artists who are marketing directly to the consumer and doing well. They are the exception and not the rule. I picture, I can do this here, being able to go the Community University and renting out one of their studios for a few hours and getting a sound engineer with that and then having production or mixing done or doing the latter yourself. I have done some playing and recording with a fairly local band and the studios at UMA were the least expensive until a friend built a decent studio attached to his bar.
