House hands down. Most people never even heard of Doctor Who. I'll probably download the series some time in the future (new and old) but House is still better.
Awe man, now I have to try this. Only I would say it out loud. I would also laugh histerically. I will also probably get beaten to death by New Mexicans but it would be worth it. I wonder how many people in NM believe agree with this and approve of taxes being used for this "crusade".
I believe most schools just get the new editions of the books they have, regardless of the lack of new materials in them. I don't think this will cause a problem with textbooks other then it saying that Pluto is onlya planet to the government of New Mexico and not the rest of the world (they must feel special).
That's really the gist of it. The name is arbitrary. The properties that Pluto posseses are not being changed by law. Granted, changing the classification of an object arbitrarily is not good, the classification of "planet" (and many other cosmic objects) isn't well defined to begin with.
Frankly, this isn't really news (not that it's a surprise anymore./. rarely reports news anymore) and proves how dumb politicians and scientists can be. Until I see a set a detailed rules on the classifications and names of celestial objects, they can call Pluto "a flying space rock that's different from the other rocks" and it wouldn't make a difference.
You bring in interesting point. I prefer having programs work on many architectures but I don't expect some company to build a server farm for open source programs. Frankly, the open source community should pool together and create a community farm (Compile@Home or some crap like that) and/or have the hardware companies create farms. If Sun want's more applications ported to their stuff, set up a farm for the opensource community. The thing with SF is that you only need to go to SF for all the platforms. A log on for each architecture is too much hassle.
As for the dying platforms, no comment. Don't know enough about the supposed deaths of platforms to make comment.
A moving bar kinda sucks. The problem is that most people associate robot with android. It's not a big issue since mainstream media and the general public never get it right anyway.
Yea, they probably planned to post the emails from the beginning. They probably didn't expect him to get any of the jokes but it would be funnier when they posted the emails. It would have been funny anyway but this just makes it funnier.
It really seems like it tests human morality. Really doesn't work that way though. Most people are moral most of the time. This is "torture" for torture's sake. The results would be different if some volunteers were paid or threatend to torture the woman. That might be done later on but I don't think the results from this test would mean too much.
I have to agree with you. Everything is about choice and Microsofts products are sometimes the best choice. I disagree with many things this person said and frankly I don't care. Most people will not pick the best tool for the job. As ignorant as this christian is, your point still stands. I think there should be more respect in people's choice to choose the monopoly.
Have you per chance heard of wine? It helps during moments like these. I'm not a linux zealot and I would prefer to use my own computer. Run firefox for windows on wine and be dome with it.
Compare World of Warcraft to Wii sports. Not sharing a screen has it's advantages in many, many games and many people (including me) would gladly pay for it. You just can't play an RTS with you buddies sharing a screen. You're also assuming you need 4 computers. They could take turns playing online.
Yea, it seems like people are going to avoid Z rated games. IMO, this is pretty bad. The Z rating seems to lump many games together and since some stores may not carry Z (which makes no sense, just check for id) it may not allow an otherwise fine game to be exposed enough.
What do I care? I'm over 18? Haha, tough luck kiddies.
I don't know about you, but I like "finished" games. Granted, MMORPGs go on and on and on but not every game genre should be like that. Your statement is flawed in that it only works for "expansion packs" and "updates". For example, WarCraft 3 (and expansion). What about the next iteration? Should WoW use the WC3 engine? Should Doom 3 use the original Doom engine? There is a difference between adding levels and such and using new technology. Where do we draw the line? Changing the engine all of a sudden can prevent some players from playing the "update" (drastic change in tech). Storyline-wise, it's done. Sure, more can be added but it's not necessary (example, Zelda). If the game is an ever changing thing, your method works. Otherwise, "blocks" work better. Not saying that the blocks couldn't be improved upon, but the game devs need to move on.

There are many more news articles worth posting here. This isn't even news. Who's cock gets sucked to pass these articles through?
