  1. Re:Yes/No/Maybe on Was the 2004 Election Stolen? · · Score: 1

Are you seriously arrogant enough to believe that homeless people are incapable of doing so? "I never said they were incabable of doing so. It is just that for homeless people it is something that is outside of thier normal concerns. Spend a day at a shelter, help out for a day. Follow a homeless person around for a day, see what thier daily concerns are. I have helped the homeless by volunteering. I have also worked at the polls. Your statements are that of someone who has no idea how a homeless person lives. Logically speaking homeless "should" be able to do this and that. What you are not getting is whether or not they "want" to do or "can" do something of that nature. I have seen homeless people being kicked out of libraries within a matter of minutes. Shooed away from storefronts and the city officials ask them to leave the parks. That are the ones without a "job". The ones with a job work by selling papers and selling the homeless voice. There are those who work to clean up public areas and streets. These jobs exploit these people by using up most of thier time. But thier work enables them to get hot food and a place to sleep at night. Tell me in your perfect world or wherever you live, where "you" see a homeless person spending thier time in a library (instead of working or trying to get money). You can't? Are you blowing hot air? yes you like to sound rightous and might by being a voice of equality but there are more important things that we can do for our homeless than giving them the ability to vote. "Then another question: Are you seriously elitist enough to think that a capable, informed homeless person shouldn't be allowed to vote simply because they have no permanent residence?" Yes because you must provide proof of residence, in which is attached the district in where you vote in. If you go outside your district the other district you are trying to vote in will contact your district to see if you voted there or anywhere else. Thats why it would take you about an hour long wait to vote outside your district. But you know that right? You voted before? Outside of your district? "So your answer is to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of people so that 100 illegal votes won't be cast? I'm sorry, but that is not a "valid solution," it's stupid. Am I really the only person here who thinks that taking away someone's legal right to vote is just as bad, if not worse, than fraudulently casting a second vote under someone else's name? Especially since the former has been done systematically, deliberately, maliciously, and in mass numbers?" Thats the point. The majority of homeless people I have had to deal and work with in the past didn't think about voting. "Well, we've seen Robert F. Kennedy's article proving that eligible voters are being turned away, even cited with legitimate reputable sources, so let's see your proof that homeless people's names are being exploited. How many extra votes is your source estimating are cast? What elections are your source saying were swayed due to this fraud? Come back with those numbers, an we'll compare them and see which system is truly being exploited. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. You made it up. Makes it kind of harder, I suppose." Thats your escuse for making it easier?

"It doesn't matter, you can't discriminate against the homeless, period. (Duh.) They are, for the most part, citizens, too, and therefore, have the right to vote. If it comes down to discriminating against the homeless or figuring something else out, well, we'll just have to figure something else out. Or else next time, maybe we'll just discriminate against you."

No, homeless people should not be allowed to vote. Do you seriously believe that people without homes have enough time to sit down and objectively research who would be better in office for them? I am exposed to many homeless people everyday and they work hard on trying to build/rebuild thier life. Not many care about our government and view it with contempt. As it was said before the "Discrimination" is a perfect excuse. What distric or area are they representing when they are voting? What stops anybody from using a homeless guys name 100 times acros 50 states? All I can har is how we should not descriminate without any valid solutions to something that can be exploited beyond belief.

"I'm sure it's just that they finally figured out how to compress things properly. To my understanding none of the game gives off a feeling of being cut up or missing stuff." That's because they did a good job. One of my first realizations that games sometime were shipped unfinished was Soul Reaver: legacy of Kain. I remeber reading about all the swords and creatures that was supposed to be in the game. First they ran out of space then they ran out of time. I would have never known that they had those issues if they didn't go into detail about what was supposed to be in the game. I heard they were shipped in part 2.... but I never played it. I lost interest. " Team Ninja made similar complaints prior to DOA4's release and the game ended up fitting less than a full disc while still loaded with a good amount of HD video (30 or so minutes at a minimum). From's game also had a lot of HD video so I suspect the hold-up was better WMV compression software." You're telling me a fighting game (Don't get me wrong... I like DOA4) with only 30 minutes of HD video barely fitting on a DVD9 disk is an example of how a typical JRPG should have no problems fitting on a dvd9 disc? I am going to take thier original comments at face value and hope that they aren't saying anything because they found a work around. If they had to cut anything chances are you would not see it in the final product. The only time you will notice oddities in a games story or graphics is when a dev runs out of time. "I think some devs certainly could make great use of the extra space of HD-DVD or Blu-ray, but I also don't think it's worth the extra $200-300 it adds to the system cost. Not enough devs would take advantage of it, and some of that money would be better spent on something like fancier GPUs that most devs could actually take advantage of (which is basically what MS did with the X360, while Sony seems to have bundled a lower spec GPU with the PS3 that is basically an off-the-shelf PC part). The currently much lower speed of these HD drives is also a negative - Blu-ray only offers about half the peak read speed of the X360's DVD drive, though admittedly it will hit that peak a lot more often than the X360 will hit its own." No one expects the devs to take advantage of it at first but hands down I believe that most devs will take advantage of blu ray entering into the consoles second gen cycle. As far as the lower spec of the shelf GPU as rumored to here, http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9126/PlayStation-3-G PU-Less-Powerful-than-GeForce-7800/ maybe you will be happy to know that that statement wasn't true and had to be recanted here, http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9132/PlayStation-3-G PU-More-Powerful-than-GeForce-7800/ Still the PS3 GPU pushes higher numbers and the 360 GPU is more efficent with the USA, keep in mind that the USA is going to be optimized by DX10 functions. It turns out that direct X is owned by Microsoft (shocking isn't it) the USA might not have any advantage on the PS3 because of how the games are made on that system.

They might have made big changes. This type of thing is not new. I have been hearing devs complain about space since the PSX and it's CD based console. At first devs didn't really know how to use the space and in less than 3 years they were complaining about it is not enough. I am one of those people who believe that certain devs would actually make great use of the extra space.

This hate mongering for Sony on the web is leading to some very inaccurate statements and comparisons. This is a wave of sentiment going over the internet that is rather quite short sighted. First of all it goes without saying that it is given that the PS3 will garner enough developer support which in turn will show people why they should get a PS3. Ok! Lets say you are not going to get an HDTV and you are never planning on getting one.If the PS3 devs can actually turn the theoretical 2 teraflops of information into actual reality then you wont even need an HDTV to see the difference. Right now to comparing games that are being showed "6 MONTHS" (not one is over 70% complete)before the system is released to games that are entering a consoles 2nd generationI can already see a difference. Also the fact that the final ps3 dev kits were shipped in march and the majority of game devs were working on a considerably weaker kit
to give you the "same" looking graphics as the 360 that you saw at E3.

Additionally I see it as a better thing to have the Blu ray built into the PS3 versions instead of an addon. Addons to a system doesn't get that much attention from game devs because they do not want to block out a major portion of the market.Unless it was an
absolute that most PS3 owners was going to buy a Blu ray addon, why
program for that in mind? Case in point the hard drive addon for the
Ps2..... exactly how much developer love did that get? That being
said, gamer will eventually care about the blu ray drives especially
if game developers would actually like to take advantage of the larger
    space.
"From Software producer Masanori Takeuchi, who's been
working on Enchant Arm, a role-playing game slated to be an Xbox 360
launch title, said developers will also be running into issues of
storage space in the next generation. While the Xbox 360 is a
next-generation console, Microsoft decided to equip it with a normal
DVD reader rather than give it HD-DVD or Blu-ray reading
    capabilities.
"The volume of data in Enchant Arms won't fit
into a single DVD. It's an RPG, so we're thinking it would be
inevitable that we release it on two discs," says Takeuchi. "But to
