I, for lack of better wording, dated my wife for 3 years via instant messaging. I never physically saw her for the first 3 years we knew each other. I took a lot of crap from a lot of people. We met after 3 years and got married a month after that. We've now been married for just over a year and just had a child.
Just because you haven't "seen" a person doesn't make it "fantasy". I know quite a few other people just like me who met their spouse online. Most don't go 3 years before meeting though;)
Yes I hear that the new iPod will be based on an anal implant and you won't need earbuds anymore. They'll simply replace one of your molars with a vibration device that will simply vibrate your head to reproduce the sound.
Seriously though, of course things will get smaller, but iPod is already weak enough. Perhaps they should work on making them more rotund?
I personally don't own an iPod, I went for Creative Labs Zen Vision:M. Far superior imho. Anything that's not Apple is welcome.
" The conclusion was that Americans living near coal-fired power plants are exposed to higher radiation doses, particularly bone doses, than those living near nuclear power plants that meet government regulations."
I actually work in the nuclear industry and understand the ramifications of what is being talked about here. While it is a "big deal" to the nuclear industry the danger we're talking about is minimal.
actually you can get quite a few newer games to work. Unreal has had Linux distros for a while. Wow can be made to work under WINE. The problem with most of these games is the setup time required to get it to run. Why spend an hour or two attempting to get WoW set up under linux when you can spend 5 minutes installing it under windows?
It's a catch 22. More people would use Linux if the games were there. But the games aren't there because not enough people use linux.
For the record (before I get poo pood) I've had ubuntu and mandrake on 2 seperate comps. My laptop (3-4 years old) runs everything just fine. My desktop (2 years old) did not have driver support for what I have in it, and most likely will not receive driver support (Soundblaster X-fi sound card). Not to mention the config editing I had to do to get the Nvidia 6800 to work.
As a hobby Linux is fine. You won't get the gaming freaks to switch over any time soon.
I don't believe it is "enuf said". I'm not a Mario Party fan...but to call them crap is just not true. They're just not YOUR personal cup of tea. They're not doing much in the way of innovation in that series either, but they do tweak them a bit every release.
The fact that Sony released a fix should not get them any kudos. The fact that Sony pushed PS3 out the door with this issue should cause everyone to raise their brow and ask "Why was it even an issue in the first place?" I think Sony has (yet again, see SWG for the same thing) pushed a product to the population that is not ready. Further evidence of this is seen in the games that are currently available. They did it because they were losing revenue. It makes sense from a money point of view but it's bad for consumers. I'd urge anyone looking to buy a PS3 to wait just 3 more months, 6 or more if you can contain yourself. By then PS3 will be where it should have been the day of release.
I appreciate what these OC'ers are able to accomplish. Though their cooling system is not a viable solution for every day computing, I for one am amazed they've achieved this level of OC.

This seems to be a continuation from stories posted late last year. Here's a link to an article about this very topic posted September 1, 2005. http://www.windowsitpro.com/windowspaulthurrott/Ar ticle/ArticleID/47566/windowspaulthurrott_47566.ht ml
