We could drop half a billion of them over the middle east.

Why the hell does anyone need more than their book & a passport anyway?
Because airlines lose luggage all the time. If I'm traveling with checked luggage, I put at least one change of clothes and things I'll need right away in my carry on. If I am traveling light, I only take a carry on. That way I avoid waiting at baggage claim and don't have to worry about my luggage getting lost.

In the 1920s cigarettes were much more of a luxury item than the "staple" they've since become. Sure, factory made cigarettes were a luxury, but people would roll their own, or smoke pipes and cigars. smokers wouldn't have interrupted their 1920s workday for a cigarette break -- their bosses would most likely have forbidden it. Of course they wouldn't have taken a cigarette break. They would've just smoked on the job! See, back when people could smoke INSIDE the building, the cigrarette break didn't exist.
