The future lies not in touch but in gesture. MS is going to couple their kinect with their OS. Then the user will be able to manipulate the device without having to actually touch it. It'll be like casting a spell to change windows.
My phone company, Comcast, allows me to block phone numbers. Except they won't allow 800 numbers to be blocked. Let me block those numbers and the problem goes away.
The deaths associated with this threat has to be lost in the noise of all the other deadly threats in a hospital. Hospitals kill more people than car wrecks.
Something like this would be invaluable to the Coast Guard. Having a resource that could maintain a search for extended periods with sensors capable of spotting distressed vessels or even the IR signature of someone in the water would save hundreds of lives a year. Once located then they could send a manned A/C to assist.
I would like an app to let me keep track of my library. There are some android apps out there but they don't run on BN's version. I can use a N2A card to boot up in android but it would be nice to have a library management app that integrates with the nook's library. I use the excellent app, Book Crawler, on my iPod but it's another device to carry.
I don't know why BN doesn't use a straight up Android OS. I have several nooks and I like them but it's frustrating that they limit the apps that will run on them by not having android support. App stores see it as android but then won't install the app.
Where was their security? At this time of all times they should have been on a much higher state of alert. How's that privativation of State Dept security working out?
Private industry did in fact build an ice breaker (not nuclear) on the Great Lakes and had the Coast Guard run it for them. No reason why they couldn't do the same with a nuclear powered one.

Reminds me of Microsoft's "Management by screaming" style they had 15 years ago.
Resistance is futile.
Except audible.com files don't work on the linux player I've tried.

Not crash.

For us in Washington. Thank God there still making Doritos.
If you're innocent you have nothing to fear.

The BN nook uses this processor. Sounds like an attempt at freezing out the competition.
They need the FTC to protect them from the big mean Google.

Put them side by side and make some really cool 3D apace movies.

Kind of off topic but,I wonder how much storage one would need to monitor the sky horizon to horizon for a 24 hour period?
On the plus side, if it escapes the farm it probably won't reproduce in the fresh water.
Statistically speaking, isn't the universe empty?
I couldn't find in the article who was importing, selling or reselling the affected machines. They mention one individual but not his company.

Sounds like a BP press release.
