New interface does that mean harder to use or easier to make everything disappear? or both? It really would be time saving if it just did both at once for me.
[sarcasm] Yes please M$ take my bandwidth from me. No no, i wont mind at all. [/sarcasm]
With that said, if this gets used on/. i'll have little bandwidth..must plot to raise karma..
mod how you will.
Artists/bands don't have to back the RIAA, record companies back the RIAA. Personally I don't agree with pirating of music. Bands/Artists make so little off sales it's rediculous. You want the RIAA to go away? then get every band and artist out there to NOT sign on with a major record label that is part of the RIAA and to NOT sign on with any that have talked with or are considering working RIAA. Until then this is what we get. Or until there are enough counter suits against them that they get the point.
Accountant: "Bill, we need to find a way to pay all these developers so much money."
Bill: "I know, I know, but how can we do that?"
Accountant: "Well, we could take a lesson from....."
Bill: "from?"
Accountant: "Linux and the open source community" *Covers head* "Please don't hurt me."
Bill: " How DARE YOU......wait a minute, that might actually work!!"
Accountant: "Really? you think so?"
Bill: "Yeah, make it so we can let other people make our games for us and NOT have to pay them."
Seriously, is this legal for the RIAA to do? The man they where after is dead, so now they are going to try and use his own children to get to his estate?? Sounds like some back door shaddy sh!t going on to me.
You wake to a pounding on your door. At your door are two men dressed in suits.
you "Umm can I help you."
Suits " You're under arrest."
you "On what charge?"
Suits "For not patching your windows computer."
You "patch my what?? I use Linux!"
Suits with a baffled look "Lin-what? Are you threatening us?"
Suddenly more suits surround you and begin beating you while you hear "King Bill" laughing in the background.
Well nearly everyone said this would end up being a privacy nightmare and it looks like nearly everyone was right. With one found, how many more AOL users are going to be found now? More importantly, how many people will stay with AOL after this?
Actually, I'm in college and everytime I meet someone new at a bar instead of asking for phone numbers people ask "Do you have a myspace account?" So it's not just a high school thing or younger it's infecting everybody it seems. I saw the benefit of it at first. A way to get back in touch with "long lost" friends, but at this point it's become such an over used and overly "customized" that it's just unreal. Hell it reminds me of livejournal and all things of that nature.
Ok, admittedly I'm new to linux and still ask a lot of questions and spend lots of time on forums, but so far I haven't any major problems getting an e-mail client to work. I never used Outlook, never liked it, but I have used Thunderbird and haven't had any problems getting it set up and will be setting up Evolution when I get the chance to do so. Really, it just seems like this guy doesn't have the desire to actually learn something new or do something for their self. A fine example of a M$ drone?
how is it illegal in texas? Last I heard (granted a few years ago) the city of Allen had an Open Wi-fi spot. Granted security was left up to you to secure your own computer, but hell, thats what OPEN means.
What procautionary measures? Like a lot of others on here are saying it all happens in a cycle. The Earth is hot, then cools, then becomes mostly a giant ice block, then warms up again, gets hotter, repeat. Sooner or later it'll get cooler. But, if you some cost effective ideas that everyone can buy into and wont force them to give up their comforts please share.
Christ I hope that was a Joke.. If not, you make me sick. Making open sourced anything illegal should be a crime in and of itself. Odds are if it wasn't for open sourced software many security holes that have been found wouldn't have been found. I don't know if that is completely true or not, but to me it makes sense. I mean how can you justify your thought process there?
Ok, so we all know why this is problem, and that the market won't solve this problem on it's own. So, how about one of the more legally versed nerds/geeks out there do some research and find out what laws they are or could possible be breaking if swung in the right wording. After thats done we the consumers file a class action lawsuit and hit them below the belt..... In their pockets. I mean hell, if they can keep other companies wanted to helps out of business by taking their money why can't we pull a robin hood and take it right back?
Or is it a bad idea to stand up for and fight what we think is right anymore? Last I checked the "Nazis" of WWII hadn't become part of our government to come arresting us for thinking something aside from what the government, or those controling the government thought....
But it's just a suggestion.
You're assuming that the typical M$ user honestly CARES about the bugs in the OS. They don't. They just want it to work, when it doesn't they call their local nerd to fix, if they don't know any (for whatever reason) they call that outsourced number that connects them to someone who couldn't make it as an actor so they are reading their scripts over the phone.
It's fact most reporters swing the story to sound interesting and try and relate it to something they THINK they know about. To me it seems most reporters don't know jack. If the claim about video games and TV was true, then at this point I should be a raging ceral killer with a rap sheet long enough to fill a couple good sized databases. Hell, i've grown up n violent video games and violent movies.

being that he's not talking about sexual orientation the point in your comment was?
"But evidence destruction is not itself prima facie evidence of guilt. " Maybe not but why wipe the hard drive if there was nothing to hide?

whats another class action lawsuit among friends?
AOL can't even get privacy right, what makes anyone think they can work a back hoe or something as complicated as a shovel?

See, thats an idea I can work with. Say it's B, work on it, but hope to hell it's A. If it's A, then sh*t, we did something useful anyway.
