Thanks for the info about judges but should you be telling us how to change it instead of how to behave in front of a judge? Do you really want a judge to say someone is guilty because the accused isnt in a suit or doesnt know court procedures. Shouldn't the accused be found guilty based on evidence, not the "cover of the book"
I think you are confused. There is more than one group involved here; there are content producers, content owners, content distributers and consumers.
Over time, technology has made things more effiecient. Things like how you make and distribute copyrigted works. Why is it that you demand longer copyright terms when your job has gotten easier?
Is the above comment really insightfull? All of Microsoft is trying to avoid paying corporate taxes, not all people use microsoft products and not all Microsoft customers avoid paying for a license.
Why do you think one person speaks for everybody. The game is not even for sale, so how do you know it is not going to be bought? Do you know who has to deal with drm issues if present, the legit customer is who.
Do you know who removes those racist or drug ads? its the users that flag them idiot. If users aren't flaging sex ads, guess what? It is cause they want it.
"You have the right to not pay him but you don't have the write to not pay him copy his book and give it to others."
But he does have the right to take it and give it to others. Of course that is only after the content ownwer's right to be the sole distributor of the work expires.
Why do most content creators believe they should have sole distribution rights for their works for lifetime+ years when it is so easy and cheap to distribute? If you can not recover your costs in XY years, then you probably won't recover your costs in 100 years.
I am not saying what the copyright term should be, but that it should be studied and that copyright reform is needed.
"Dean opposes the Patent Reform Act of 2009, which would make it easier to overturn patents after they are granted"... Just like the guy (Victor Hugo?) who brought to life copyright and its terms of death+ years, he was old and had a lot of writings and had 4 children... lots to gain from copyright.
... so you would hold some small keyboard in your hand and your other hand could be holding the tablet? Sounds horrible.
"not for (individual) resale" is just a suggestion, not the law.

Ive seen some headers that are along the lines of "this post brought to you by file.rar" in many of the groups
Even if false, what does that say about society today if this is even believable.
You just said it in your post, you have to give up interacting with credit agencies.
You are mixing two things up, the ideas of OSS which are superior and the quality of the software at its current state.
yea cause a bomb can be made of money ...
The parent post is marked informative? Informative like it is easy to tell who is a terrorist by the length of their beard?
Very interesting comment Ragzouken. If a digital good has no resale value or can not be resold, what is it really worth?

But the customer has a choice to not pay those increased costs passed on to them by going to a different compnay.
> What other ideas are out there to keep news journalism profitable?
Why does it have to be profitable?
>> 'Fair use tool' would be security hole. It is naive to expect that it would be used for its intended purpose.
What about copyright's intended purpose? At the termination of the copyright term, how is the public benifiting from this?

are you saying you are that AC that posted above :) You let your anger reval your identity
It would make sense if the comments parralled the code, but the comments say the average, not a wieghted average.

So it is society's fault for a author who doesn't know how to market his works?

He said "almost" always right, why do you want to correct him? So with this remote kill switch in the kindle, you think the customer is wrong?
do it
