You speak of this as if its a new thing. I laughed the other day when some site was discussing the quality of the new American Chevvys, the fact that they're a Korean car based heavily upon European technology seemed to escape them completely. It been the norm for some time to establish a company and declare the technology as American and thus patriotic when the reality is somewhat different.

If they did that there would be no FUD. I agree in principle with what your saying. The report suggests that Admins have been trained to use Windows servers so are struggling with *nix environments. The solution is training not dumping Linux for Windows. There is no way that ease of use should ever be put above performance in a server environment.

BF2 is hardly cutting edge, try Oblivion or X3. Medium detail with no anti-aliasing would be a turnoff for most gamers (not myself but most).

Because Steam has the benefit of having games to go with the delivery system. The only way such a system could evolve is if there was one killer game that could only be played on a Mac that made everyone rush out and buy one.

I'm not certain but if Charles pushes it I have no doubt he will be allowed in and he seems the type to do it. Personally I believe that Charles would be the death of the Monarchy so I'm stuck in a position where: 1. I wouldn't mind the Monarchy disappearing 2. The thought of Charles as King is enough to make you want to throw yourself off a bridge The pragmatist in me sees an horrendous array of problems if the Monarchy disappears* so preferably Charles will stand aside. *The issues over whether Royal property belongs to them or the state. Who replaces them in all the official functions they still hold. Not to mention a complete rewriting of just about all British law.

On all the things you could have claimed OSS can't compete on you pick a Text Editor. There are at least 5 or 6 capable Text Editors for Linux. I agree that there are some apps you can't get but I don't think this is one particular area OSS is lacking.

Though how much I would give to shoot the leaching Royal family out of a large cannon and have a proper form of government rather than a crippled mess like we have now. If Blair had got his 'anything I like is law' bill past parliment and declared himself dictator for life would the Royal family have done their duty and desposed him. Likely not because the Monarch is there to wave at tourists and hasn't done anything meaningful for quite some time, we'd have got more support from the EU in that situation. Anyway if Charles ever becomes King I think I will move.

Second hand smoke has in no way, shape or form been found to be harmless. Most independant studies have only increased the claims of how bad smoking is to the general public. The only studies that say otherwise are generally funded by tobacco companies. In Britain its been shown that the percentage of non smoking bar staff dying of lung cancer is far higher than that for the non-smoking general population hence we are banning smoking in pubs.

The amount of evidence against tobacco is quite damning yet people cling onto non-independant reports in hope of justifying the unjustifiable.
