I think it is important to make a distinction between RFID and NFC. NFC works only at very short ranges (a cm at most). So basically is only useful for tapping your card on a reader. This has a very different implication to RFID which can be scanned from several feet away, allowing much more ubiquitous monitoring without the input of the person being monitored.
Its due to a quirk of NDK apps on android. Before Firefox had to unpack its libraries and effectively have them in two places. Now they link back to the original packed files, its sightly slower but thats where the space savings comes from.
Each major version of Android is named after a dessert, and in alphabetical order, so Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and now Gingerbread (with Honeycomb to come). When the Android team finishes the next version they celebrate by getting a big statue (in this case a gingerbread man) put on their front lawn.
Well in the mp3 player market they have an effective monopoly. Not sure they could be accused of much antitrust with i-pods though. (except maybe the ipod touch and the app store problems)
Well, steam allows you to install your games on as many computers as you want, and just be signed in online playing on one at a time.
Its not much control to give up for the convenience and great deals steam offers. No more installing, patching etc. Just install steam and select which games you want on this particular computer.
I think you just described steam:). The number of games i pirate has fallen dramatically since i started using steam, and i have even bought titles i pirated in the past at their awesome sales.
Wow.. For at least the first of those examples you are completely wrong. You can edit all the contact information on the android phone itself. You just go to your contacts on the phone. Long press on the one you want to edit, select edit contact and type in the name in the first box.
Since everything is synced to google you can also do this change on gmail, or even google.com/contacts. I don't know where you got the idea that you have to edit CSV values.
Also looking at the music app on my g1, (which i don't really use, yay zune hd) I'm not sure where you are coming from. To get to an artist I open the music app, click the upper left button labeled artists, and then start typing to search. To play an entire artist just long press on it and select play.
Getting pictures off the phone is as you say, although there are third party apps you can get to do bluetooth transfer, or even just upload your photos to picasa, or email them to yourself. Now that I think of it just use the import functionality on something like picasa. For the last of these getting pictures off my G1 is no harder than getting them off my point and shoot.
What android phone were you testing these on?
I have been running Windows 7 on my MacBook and I hardly boot into OSX anymore. The HFS drivers coming in snow leopard will be welcome even though it is read only (supposedly to prevent the mac partition from being messed up by viruses.
I use the windows 7 RC on my macbook via bootcamp and have found the battery life almost the same as osx. Especially if you actually use the power saving menu and switch to low performance.
That's more to do with providing a cheap version of windows than the actual problems of netbooks running the OS. Also even if XP runs slightly better all of the other benefits of Windows 7 outweigh the performance gain.
Okay first of all windows 7 works on PCs that are relatively underpowered (netbooks), and if you have a computer less than 3 years old it should be able to run vista.
Yeah, I was in Imperial student halls last year. First time you go over the 5gig a day (including upload) you get a 48 hour ban and then 2 weeks.. However the internet access block only takes effect once you have restarted your computer. So if you can keep your computer up you can avoid the ban.

You could select a custom background on google and set it to white. Or use the https google. Both of these would effectively hide all doodles.

Nope this is just the 13inch Macbook. Remember that battery benchmarks are flawed.

Well i only pay 30 pounds a month for unlimited data and £140 of equivalent pay as you go credit, the mobile markets in the uk are not tooo bad.
Now however I am on o2 broadband which is 10 pounds a month for a 16 meg connection (unlimited).
