    M$ Media Center doesn't play DVDs very well.

    www.vlc.com VLC Media player is free, works on any dvd (region regardless). Another bonus is skipping the anti-pirating ads/trailers that they make you watch when you actually buy a dvd.

    Once the code freeze was initiated for beta 4 the nightly builds changed to 3.05pre.

    Its actually 2 free hours a day, which for a one off fee of 15 dollars is really not too bad.

    The problem with China invading Taiwan and Japan is that the Chinese navy has far from the capabilities to move its huge army across to those island nations.

    Those percentages cant just be 'added' together. There is an overlap of people who use both mobile phones and landlines.

    Oh England claims to use the metric system. However if you drive down any road in England, what unit of distance are the road signs in? Miles.. What units of speed are the speed limits in? Miles per hour... Loads of the English still use the 'stone' (14 pounds) to measure their weight. People won't change the units that they are used to, unless they are forced to. In France they made Imperial units illegal, it worked, the French now use Metric units. However isn't that a bit overkill? As long as people are familiar with both systems they can choose which they prefer. I agree there is a need for consistency in the scientific community. This already exists, they use the Metric system. For the simple layman, why force a change? Imperial units work, Metric units work. You can argue one may be easier than the other, but is it easier to learn a new system than stick with what you know? There are tons of easily available methods of conversions. I say let it be.

    The whole point of ethanol is that the carbon released when you burn it was taken out of the system when the corn/sugar was grown.

    What may I ask is the incentive for him to buy DVDs at $1-2 and sell them for $0.50? The goodness of his heart? If that is the case isn't invalidated by him having bought pirated DVDs in the first place.

    If you look on the Gaim (Pidgin) homepage http://gaim.sourceforge.net/ the name originally was 'GTK+ AOL Instant Messenger' as it was originally just used for AIM. Due to a dispute with AOL in this early stage of the projects life it was renamed to Gaim.

    I'm assuming that you have never watched/listened to the "discourse" in the British Parliament. I can assure you that it is far from civil. Something like the US Senate would be a better example.
