I'm of the opinion that you can't "rip-off" an insanely obvious idea. Anybody with an IQ over 60 has wondered why they couldn't do this with their iDevice.
Certainly seems sufficient for probable cause (and thus an arrest). Chances are incredibly good that anyone purporting to sell a moon rock is committing wire fraud.
I'm pretty sure he's talking about using flash to develop native iOS apps. (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/logged_in/abansod_iphone.html).
BTW, I don't think I made it clear in my original post; the reason people think its a fake is because some stuff happens on the screen before he actually places the shape/figurine on it. He claims that his finger brushed the screen.
Here's the guy's response to a comment about this on his website:
Non tu ne rêves pas, mais j’ai juste appuyé avec mon doigt au moment de prendre le pion et cela à créé un contact. La démo est développée en Flash et marche vraiment très bien. Nous sommes en train de la redévelopper en Objective C (merci Steve;-).
It says: No, your not dreaming. I just pressed (brushed?) my finger at the moment when I picked up the piece and that created a contact. The demo is developed in Flash and works very well. We're in the process of porting it to objective-c.
I never really got how someone could hold view like this (that some abortions are ok). It seems to me like you can cut down the issue to one essential question: is the fetus a human life?
If you think it is, then obviously no form of abortion is ok (its murder).
If it's not, then abortion is no different then terminating a pregnancy by using contraception (or a woman's period, or male masturbation). All of these activities involve the potential to produce human life (steps in the process), but due to certain conditions the process is terminated.
I don't see much of a middle ground here.
Lol, yep I really had to dig for the first result on google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=define%3Aatrocity). The first definition was from Princeton.
Btw, the rest of the definitions are:
An extremely cruel act; a horrid act of injustice - Wikitionary
atrocities - are acts that are shockingly cruel - McGraw-Hill
I excluded unrelated entries (like band names and movies).
As for this being the first time that someone's criticized your literary style; isn't this the same as Godwin's law? Basically people are apt to use hyperboles in an argument online? I mean, stuff like this literally happens all the time on Slashdot.
And finally, way to be a prick. We can't have a nice discussion about word choice in arguments without me having to "get over myself?"
atrocity:
the quality of being shockingly cruel and inhumane
an act of atrocious cruelty
Look, I'm not arguing that businesses can't commit acts that could probably be called atrocities (see forced labor for the Nazi war machine) but until telecos start working Jews and Gypsies to death let's skip the colorful language.
Atrocities? Seriously? I like net neutrality as much as the next guy (posting on Slashdot) but comparing inconvenient telecommunications fees/policies to genocide or war crimes is ridiculous (and cheapens the word).
Let's take it beyond just people with cameras. What about people with photographic memories? It should really be illegal for anyone to even look at your house, regardless of whether they're on public property.
I use Ubiquity all the time for text translation. You just highlight the text, bring up Ubiquity and type translate. IMO this is where ubiquity shines; its hardly bolted on, its a really natural way of instructing the browser to work with the page I have open. Its way more convenient than any other option since I don't have to switch pages/tabs.
The iphone has had stereo bluetooth since iPhone OS 3.0. I have Motorola HT820 headphones (which suck btw, too heavy), and I haven't had any problems with A2DP with my iPhone 3G.
If medical service is made financially availble to more people, won't that increase demand for doctors, and eventually increase the number of "EFFECTIVE" doctors? I fail to see why the number of doctors in the US would remain static.
Aren't frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum being "consumed."
If you shined a really bright flash light over their nation, so bright that they couldn't use their own lights, wouldn't you consider that consumption? If the Manitoba can't use those frequencies (even if they really don't have a reason to), wouldn't it still be considered "used"?
"But if a computer can't read such a CAPTCHA, how does the system know the correct answer to the puzzle? Here's how: Each new word that cannot be read correctly by OCR is given to a user in conjunction with another word for which the answer is already known. The user is then asked to read both words. If they solve the one for which the answer is known, the system assumes their answer is correct for the new one. The system then gives the new image to a number of other people to determine, with higher confidence, whether the original answer was correct."

That's not quite true. http://www.1418hell.com/ (Now offline due to bandwidth restrictions). Here's the apple docs on it (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30 4508). Switching to iTunes 7 caused major problems for a lot of people (me included). For about 2 weeks I basically had a bricked iPod; I couldn't restore because there were major problems with the iTunes 7 and its new integrated iPod management.
I've also had major problems with Apple Firmware updates on my 60 gb 5G ipod. After updating firmware, I regularly find that Apple has dropped support for a specific video resolution or bit rate (the iPod is ridiculously temperamental with video support), which means half of the videos on my iPod don't work.
Now I don't ever upgrade my firmware; I'm really not missing out on much I guess.
Hasn't this been done before? I swear I saw this in skymall last time I was flying (I love that magazine). If I remember right, it beeped loudly when the driver exceeded a set speed limit or accellerated to quickly. It also could diagnose 4 of the check engine codes.
Wait, what?
> Then they went on and created websites that only work with Chrome
There's a big button on that page that says "try anyhow" (ie allowing you to view it with Firefox/Safari/Opera).

Would a sort of rolling key be a possible next step,
So, a stream cipher?

You seriously need to stop watching Glenn Beck (or stop taking him seriously). This is the dead horse he's been beating for weeks now ...

Anybody else read that in the movie preview voice? It was really exciting until about the 3rd sentence.

And you have to send the oxygen too. Its tough to make green house gases without any oxygen rich environment to burn it in.

No, it doesn't meet minimum system requirements.
