You are comparing 10 seconds to an hour (the computer program is running 360 times slower than the human), but nobody knows how to compare the power of the human brain to a modern computer, but most people will agree that 360 is way to low. So if we are talking about a more realistic estimate like a million your argument will of course still be correct - the computer answers the question after 116 days but is just as intelligent you (just slower).
What your are forgetting is that the computer probably needs to answer and ask a lot of questions before it can be compared to you. So if you are 25 years old you will have to wait 25 million years and 116 days before you see something comporable to your then ancient 25-year-intelligence.
So speed matters, but I will agree with you that algorithms matters even more.
In 30 years the computers will probably be a million times faster than today and then of course (if the estimate is correct) its all about the right algorithm.
Almost everyone love taking drugs, that's why alcohol is so popular.
What most people don't understand is that alcohol is deprecated and has been so for some years. This is because of the negative side-effects, that are no longer in proportion with the positive effects compared to other drugs.

I don't know any drug (besides perhaps ether) where this is such a problem.

Again it's very difficult to find any drug worse than alcohol with respect to this.

There is no other drugs taking up so much space and weight as alcohol.
Besides these three examples, where alcohol performs worse than almost every other drugs, there is a lot of other side-effects like:
addiction, negative influence on health, making some people violent, possibility of overdosing
where alcohol compares bad to a lot of drugs, but is perhaps not the absolute worst.
Conclusion: People love drugs and should have a legal alternative to alcohol.
Prediction: People will continue using alcohol and still believe that it's isn't a drug, and that they don't do drugs.
The computers gets faster every year, and its possible that they will have the same computing power as the human brain in 30 years, but that doesn't imply that we will be able to transform this power into intelligence anytime soon. After all we are not running any kind of intelligence on the current grids, and this is not because we need more speed, but because nobody knows how to do it.
But surely the world will be very strange in a not so distant future - because of Moores Law AND nanotechnology AND quantum computing AND who know what...
This is an alternative yes, but since this is not the way they do it, it is possible more complicated/expensive. If the end result is the same in all ways (1 original movie sold, 1 editing service sold, 1 edited movie watched) why make it more complicated.
This is always the way it goes: Copyright, patents, new laws about more things you can't do,... -> increased complexity and billions lost in productiviy.
At least for my phone I don't see the comparison with linux - networking can't be shut down and allows "them" to track me while I'm using all the nice applications. But I'm not paronoid...
I guess that they are trying to automate the process of having many computeres. Something like containers with hard disks going in, robots spinning around and containers with electronic waist going out. But what do I know...
I couldn't find any factor of improvement so it's hard to say how fantastic this is and digging deeper i failed the math but wondered about if the beautiful pictures of white noise was just random number generators or equipment noise ?
If anyone could tell me more I would be interested...
