  1. Re:Good luck California! on North Korea Now Making Missile-Ready Nuclear Weapons, US Analysts Say (washingtonpost.com) · · Score: 0

And you wonder why a lot of people hate the US.. they're just a bunch of hypocrites. the US is still creating and testing new nuclear weapons but is telling other countries they can't, yeah right. As long as the US is making/having nuclear weapons, any other country in the world has the right to make/have them too. Before bullying other countries into ditching them, try first to ditch them yourself, give the good example.
So as long as the US has nukes, NK should have them too. At this time both countries are run by morons.. (not that I like NK having nukes, but if the US has them, NK has just as much right to them).
So a preemptive strike is definitly just a terrorist act, and if the US does it, it should be punished severely for doing so.
So unless NK is really firing upon the US (like on guam) then it can retaliate, but otherwise it should keep its dick inside..

  2. yes there are a lot of automated things already with planes, but there still is a pilot in the seat who can take over when the computer doesn't know how to handle it. and the Pilot sure will try stuff to try to keep himself alive, the computer doesn't care. So IMHO there should always be a pilot on board.
And another problem with remote flying is security of the signal.

  3. Why is the video not removed, and why do they get money, it's not even their work. You can bitch at the big companies, but these channels are getting money by showing other people's work with only a few alterations they made themselves.

  4. Why pad poles etc.? Let those morons just get hurt by their own stupid behavior, maybe it'll teach them to watch where they are going. And a good law for fining people who keep their head on their phone while crossing the street.

  5. That's a completely different case. It doesn't even really matter if the code was written during his free time. As I said, you have to make damn sure your contract has these things covered, but most contracts don't as developers don't even think about this possibility until it happens to them.
He couldn't be fired because of the method they used to find out he did work for another company during office hours, but they certainly can use it to proof he did work on other companies software during his time at the company, at least they can use it to help them investigate it.

  6. The man went to court for being fired based on the tracking software, and won, but he didn't dismiss working on a game for another company during working there.. That's his biggest mistake... Now the company can claim ownership over the code he wrote for the game, as they can claim the code was written while working for the company (doesn't even really matter if it was in his free time (unless his job entailed something completely different like being a busdriver for the company).
As an employee you should make sure it's laid down in you contract what happens to stuff you create in your own free time (so a software developer developing software, or a hardware engineer creating hardware), otherwise if you have a crap boss your project might belong to the company (as it's perfectly feasible you were thinking and even developing it on company time).
But in this case the company just fired him because of it, he should have left it with that, as if I was the boss after being taken to court over his dismissal, I would be going after him for what he was developing during being in the service of my company as I would have every right to it as he even admitted to developing it during working hours in my company.

Because I give my computer to my brother/parents/friends? and I don't want to have the same case for ever (even though I do always choose the barest case (just a black box), but want it more quiet every new case.
I only upgrade if a component actually dies before I'm fed up with my current computer, I hate it to open the case (well actually getting it from under my desk and having to unplug all the cables and such). At the moment I'm even considering a NUC for my next PC, but the problem with NUC's is the crap GPU they have..
You're a dumbass yourself to keep upgrading a dead old cow..
I see a console as a great way for people with not much money being able to play the 'latest' games with pretty good visuals. (even though I do recommend just getting a PC as games (on steam or GOG) are in the long run cheaper to own as you can just take them with you to a new PC, which most console games don't (which is why I think if possible that any console should be able to emulate the older consoles and not having people buy their games again).

No, I don't figure in the tv price. But I do figure in everything that a new console itself has, so that means CPU/GPU/Motherboard/Memory(RAM/Storage)/optical drive/Case/powersupply, I don't even factor in the mouse/keyboard even though they are like the console controllers.
When I buy a new computer, I don't reuse any of the parts, mostly not even the optical drive.
When we're talking about comparing hardware, we're talking about like buying a new one, not upgrading.

Well if you're comparing prices at release day, and say console games costs 70 and pc 50 then you're just comparing apples and pears, as you're comparing retail prices (console) to streetprices (pc). Just looking around will get you about the same price for console games a pc games (the same game that is).

And with PC you shouldn't forget the decend case, powersupply too.

I agree the settings etc are just useless, great for dummies, but the 'old' config screens are way much better.
There are some very annoying things about Windows 8 and 10 (especially for non-English people with the autocorrect always being on in Edge and no way to disable it, which is very VERY annoying if you are typing a message in your own language, and No, turning off the setting in windows itself doesn't work).

Let's not forget, 'good' ransomware is already working weeks before they show themselves, and in the meantime it will affect all files which are being backedup. You're lucky if you can detect that ransomware way before it shows it's ugly head to you, but a lot of times it isn't.. great now you have a backup... but it's useless.. And in a lot of companies having to revert back to a month old backup is just as bad as not having a backup at all.. In these cases you're lucky if it's ransomware that only encrypts everything and when it's done will immediatly show it's head so you can put a day old backup back.
