Well, this could be useful for our soldiers in the field. Send a 'spiderbot' into an Iraqi house to map out the insides and scout for hostage locations. Then smoke the place up and send in the soldiers with infrared-enhanced VR goggles on or something.
The short answer to GPP is that under SCP paradigm, a computer wiretapping you becomes identical to a human wiretapping you the moment such wiretap begins.
I regret to say that we of the FBI are powerless to act in the cases of oral-genital intimacy unless it has in some way obstructed the interstate commerce.
Let me guess, you are no longer in IT because you illegally spied on people instead of doing your fucking job?
You know, small things like deploying antiviruses, re-imaging the hard-disks, firewalling known threats, whatever the hell the good amins are supposed to do?
Self-righteous assholes like you give the rest of the I.T. folks an (undeserved) bad rep.
It is a valid theory. It's just not as useful pragmatically as, say, General Relativity or Evolution in terms of making usable and testable predictions.
If you think science has anything to say about God's existance, you are misguided as to what science actually deals with and how it treats metaphysical phenomena.
Currently MS provides OEM WinXP to the home user at a one-time low cost. The user would use that software for years afterwards without generating any income. Lost profit is basically theft.
How about instead Microsoft started charging a usage fee per time that the computer is actively used?
At, say, $0.12/hour for each non-idle hour (keypress or cursor move), this is bound to stop users stealing from Microsoft, which should keep MS in the business.
For those without internet access/credit cards, a pre-paid cybertime cards could be sold at a local 7/11 (100 hours' worth of computer use for $12, etc.)
Kind of like that TX mom who drowned her 5 kids in a bathtub to save them from the devil.
The moment I hear politicians speak of God I reach for my 12 gauge...
Your perfectly good joke is wasted given the literacy level 'round here...

RTFA:
We were able to also fix many of your bugs reported from RC1 and implement them for RC2.
Takes time to implement some good bugs, or else the users would not stay hooked to the "Patch Tuesday"/WGA
You are confusing the Heisenberg's uncertainty principle with the observer effect (as in quantum de-coherence/einselection).
Also, sorry the cat link crapped out. Here:

You are refering to a QM paradox of Schrödinger's cat

Liberated Iraq.
It didn't HAVE to fail, it was MADE to fail.

but... but... but it's not a computer, it's a whole new Vista experience(tm)
Just you wait until RIAA beancounters notice a report on how much time their techs spend trolling for unauthorized mp3 songs.
Home users (soccer moms). They already pay x50 that rate for cell phones, and see no problems with the price. And a computer could do so much more!

You are welcome, Ozzie.
Windows should be gone as a server OS.
Unless you are forced to support legacy solutions (outlook etc.), there is simply no good reason to still use Windows instead of *NIX on a server.
thanks
Forgive my ignorance, but if you use the bundled IDE/compilers, you are required to redistribute your product as OSS, correct?
Beancounters do not like that.
Fight of the century: newfs vs Vista. Wonder who would win.
Just you wait 'till we figure out how to drill for oil through glass...
Throwing burgers at a starving nation would be a great gesture.
You are confusing pressure with acceleration. These are not the same.
