I found that the total cost for Hubble from conception to present, is about 4.5 billion. The new James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) http://www.jwst.nasa.gov/ (Hubble's replacement) has a estimated cost of 4.5 billion.
Thats the first step in protecting the web. Turning off all the hackers, that are running bad cd keys. Microsoft has a right to protect there product that they sell for a price. Perfectly legal, and everyone with a "legal copy" would agree. Those without will dissagree. Its open close.
Looking back what would have been cheaper? To launch a new better one that don't need costly repairs? Or to keep repairing one that was out of date before it actually worked? Hmm, Where's the math whizz when you need him?
It's them and all the people that haven't actually bought it or played it. It has the great game play, great games, (sure not top of the sellers list, but they are all worth 1,000's of hours of replayable fun. Sure it has its faults, but all in all it's the most technically playable system out there. The Gameboy substitutes as a controller, ( imagine the possibilities, if they had senseless funding to research other possibilities with that.) and the new, motion sensor controller, what other system compares. It's the gamers out there that are looking for the fastest system, handling the most complex games, and not paying for attention to the detail of playability. What people need to realize is that there is only so much to do with the graphics, and there is no end to the replay value of a game.
Think of where we would be if it was a "Fully open source" on stem cell research, since before Dolly! Lets open things up people, let them all "Go Nuts" its better for all humanity...
Do the intracafe's, have a "terms of useage" for there "free internet access", I mean do you have to buy three cups per hour to use the service? What about the people that live next door to the intracafe's, They have been, and probably still are, useing the free service today. Don't panic biggybackers, this is a poor example of "man gets arrested for piggybacking"
The only reason this guy was picked out was because he parked his car out front, and was noticed by a female employee who thought the guy was "creepy" and called the cops. Surely the man patronized the store at least once in the three months. The "creepy" man happened to be a sex offender, which, there is a "no contact" rule like when your on probation or parole, if you get contacted by the police for suspicious activity, you will automaticly go to jail. Besides that he was probably up to no good, I mean he could have been downloading child porn, and there is no way to trace it. Except back to the intercafe, and then one of many "paying customers". Which he was not so perhaps he thought he was being smart.
One last thing, "Theft of services" It sounds good, But then you have to look back on the terms of use for the Free internet, to find if he was not living up to his end of the bargan. As for other piggybackers, Relax, Things still stay the same, If they don't want you to use it then they better lock it. (Think of it as finding a basketball at the park, Is it illegal to use it to shoot some hoops?). I THINK NOT.... Its Free Game...
I Believe in windows, for the greater good of the internet.. Windows 95, to XP, We have all used them, and we have all experienced a crash or 10,000. But a reboot and windows is back. It's like the man said, "as soon as one window is broken, it acts like an invitation to all "Monkeys", that its open-season for rock-throwing" Hence all the windows bashing. When you stop and think about what windows has done for the internet, they are in a class of there own. Lets show them some respect people.. Sure the system has flaws, bugs, what program doesn't? Microsoft is a company that stands behind it's product with fixes and updates. That's what really counts.
With Vista, They are pushing the edge of technology, re-writing history, Fixing all the mistakes that you people fond in previous versions.. So of course there are going to be delays. With the scripting, (there is probably only a handful of people that actually understand what's going on, teaching hundreds of others to do there job right.) And when the product comes to us in a official release, There is still going to be problems that people will have to face, It would be spectacular if they released Vista, and it was 100% perfect. (We all know its human nature to make mistakes). When they do release it every one is still going to BASH them more, because they don't understand how to change this or can't access that. And when they do Microsoft will be there to fix the "REAL" problems that exist. There is always going to be Monkey Bashing, which has already began, and most people haven't even used the product yet, and there already complaining about it. For those of us who have used Vista, we understand that its still a work in progress, so there is no reason to get all upset about this not working or that not working.. See "Monkey Bashing" will always be, people will always be displeased with the product they purchase, no matter how great it is, they only see the problems and blame it on the maker instead of "ID.10.T ERROR, to which the problem truly belongs.
One last fact, Microsoft got screwed in that anti trust case with the source code thing, That's when the problems started...

Quick someone make a game where we can all take out our aggression on Jack Thompson. Maybe some kid will get a copy and act on what he sees.
