The problem is not as many people are as discerning as you. You may only be worried about hiring "Nazi child molesters on the no-fly list" but some over zealous people will have simpler criteria.
In addition, if you're reading (and no less, responding) slashdot articles you're a little more technically inclined than most. A lot of hiring decisions are made by drones in HR who've forgotten a long time ago what the H even stands for. They might not be as forgiving for a genius programmer who happens to be a shutterbug while drunk.
Finally, pictures are worth a thousand words. You can only hope that others looking at pictures of you on the net find the same words you did.
Seriously, just let the code out. This world needs to understand that they need a new tool set for dealing with certain issues. It's no longer acceptable to take everything to court where typically, he-who-has-the-most-money wins. A court or faux-legal order will take a while. Just let the code out and be done with it. It's the speed of information that's going to be a force for this change. Also, if he wrote the code and hasn't sold it or the rights to it, I'm pretty sure he can give it away.
Just like momma always said when your younger siblings were bothering you, and just like Rule 14 states, you should ignore these idiots. They only want attention and will eventually go away if ignored. Other forum users should be smart enough to ignore them as well.
On the exact same laptop I get much faster speeds wirelessly in Win XP Pro than in Ubuntu 8.04. Is this because the driver isn't opensource on Ubuntu and in the restricted section? The computer is a Dell Latitude D600 and the wireless card is a Linksys Wireless-G notebook adapter.
I wonder if just blurring the faces works. The blurb mentions that they are using an algorithm to find faces, I can only assume they're using another (maybe something even similar to a Photoshop [or GIMP] filter) to do the actual blurring of the pixels. I'm no expert on the subject, but can't this type of blurring be easily undone by computers? Wouldn't it be better to simply destroy the pixels (i.e. set them all to #000000)?
I have a few questions regarding this:
1) So they are packages together, but do they have options where I can choose not to install Real?
2) Does Real still put all that stuff on at windows startup and does it still bother me with Real Messages?
Why doesn't anyone employ these hackers to attack spam companies. It would be using one destructive web force against an annoying one, after all, I'm sure they get spam too. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I'm seriously considering OpenOffice.org and Ubuntu. How do I get a free copy of Office + Vista (or 7 or XP, I'm not picky)?

I would simply trust Amazon a lot more than I'd trust PayPal. I've heard too many terrible stories about their shady practices.
