What's that, you have to wait while they do a safety check of the airline? OMG!!
Ignore the 4th amendment, what do we gain for that "safety check?" Nothing? That is what I thought. You are giving up liberty to make some people FEEL safe, but there is no extra safety. It is worse than locking the sliding glass door. Locking the sliding glass door keeps out the nosey teenagers, but that is it. The security check is unconstitutional, and we get NOTHING in return. Nothing, except for a wait, and spent tax money.
Trains do not work in the US because of who Americans are.
Trains don't work in all of America because of how big America is and how far about cities are in the west. I don't live on the east coast, but when I'm out there, the trains seem to work.
Why the hell should I look at someone just to talk with him, that's what my ears are for.
Because it is polite.
And for me it is easier for me to understand you. I am not deaf, and I don't read lips. But I am hard of hearing, and seeing your face actually helps me to hear what you are saying.
Plus I know you are talking to me and not to someone else.
You just answered most of your own questions.
If you want to just throw your money away, then do so. But otherwise you should do a bit of research. How often did you pay for a presale item from an unknown company? How often did you do it for a sequel?
I actually backed my first product yesterday. But it is a sequel of a game I like AND I know one of the developers.
Seriously he is losing money to piracy. Yes many people who pirate games, music, books wouldn't have spent the money (although they may have spent the money elsewhere. But a lot of people would have spent the money, if the game wasn't free.
Yes, you can't stop the pirates, any more than you can really stop people from stealing car steroes. But you shouldn't be condoning it either.
You proved the OPs point. Nintendo's vetting process generally chooses crappy games. The vetting process is about finding G rated family games. So a lot of cool edgy games don't make the cut.
A friend of mine just posted a pic from Vegas. It was a nice cool 120 degrees F today. I am pretty sure planes were still flying in and out of the airport.
America has some infrastructure problems, but most of those problems can be attributed to ice and water, and using the lowest bidder.
I lived in Tucson (High is over 100F for over 1/3 of the year) and we always had problems in the winter with infrastructure, and sometimes with flooding during the monsoons. But not from the heat.
So pornography, drug ads, extremist thought (what is extreme?) and promoting suicide are all on the same footing?
Well I guess no more coffee ads in Russia.
Wouldn't it be more productive to give them away? As in brand them with the name of a product, and literally give them away at a place where they employees visit. I think someone would be much more likely to use a USB given to them at a "legitimate" event, than one found on the ground.
Seriously? You are complaining about the cost of the shipping?
He is selling 22 game consoles. Each console probably costs 30 or 40 dollars to ship. That is like $600+ JUST for the consoles, let alone the 6,000 carts. How many carts can you fit in one box? a hundred? or two hundred? At two hundred that is over 30 boxes.
1000 euros actually sounds like a decent deal. Of course he probably is throwing it on a pallet and shipping it.
Let's ask all those people living in those areas of the U.S. that have been without power for the last 3-4 days how well their eBooks are working out for them now...
If they have a Kindle they are doing just fine. My kindle lasts about a month between charges.
I never understood this sentiment. Its like you are living in a dirty house, so you turn to your housemates and say "Man this place is dirty, lets spend an afternoon and clean it up." And your housemate says "Great. Now dude, fucking leave if you don't like it here!"
The only comment you made that makes sense is 3 out of 5 university students. But really, 60%? I would think if even 1 in 5 could come up with the idea.
2 years? 2 years isn't a very long time to recoup R&D. Just because you can't make money in the first 2 years doesn't mean it wasn't very good. Maybe it takes time to catch on, maybe your R&D was huge?
If you have to ALSO pay a large amount of money to get a patent, then only the rich corporations would have patents. And they'd steal from the poor people because they don't have patents. Is that what you want? The corporations taking from the little guy?
No sales ban doesn't make sense. Lets assume I make a product, the product is copied and sold. I sue for "actual damages" which would be their profit. I win... Why would the other company continue to sale the item? I'll sue them again for their profit, so they are making no money. Sales ban is better, keeps the subsequent law suit out of the court.
Oh wait, now you want to give out exemptions? Sure loopholes never affected anyone.
Patents promote innovation. I don't think anyone can say with a straight face that patents don't promote innovation.
Its simple, why would I invest money in R&D when I could instead just invest money in stealing the idea? Why would I invest my own time and money in inventing something, when someone can just steal it from me when I'm done? Without patents innovation would pretty much be stopped dead.
If you have ever used any of Apple's products (especially OS X, iTunes or iOS) you know how great they are. They are also innovative to no end.
I've used Apple products. I'm still trying to figure out how great they are. The iPad is nice for it what is, plays some good games, and I can read the newspaper in it. Some of Apple's hardware is innovative, there software not so much. So I'm not sure what your point is.
What's that, you have to wait while they do a safety check of the airline? OMG!!

I agree with you that the current TSA system is not the best, but it beats the alternative (i.e., letting everyone on an airplane without any checks).
What is wrong with the alternative?
Why do we need the TSA or "security"?

There are, or course, no ramifications

So what?
I mean that seriously, you are not losing money,

Falling in a river can be a lot of fun.

It's how markets should behave: raw supply and demand, with no collusion or other market distortions propping up prices.
Except that it has absolutely NOTHING to do with supply and demand.
So pornography, drug ads, extremist thought (what is extreme?) and promoting suicide are all on the same footing?
Well I guess no more coffee ads in Russia.

TFA also says "nearly 300 km/h" which implies 1 significant digit.

So the are branded "professional agitators." So now it is illegal to practice your first amendment rights?
I never understood this sentiment. Its like you are living in a dirty house, so you turn to your housemates and say "Man this place is dirty, lets spend an afternoon and clean it up." And your housemate says "Great. Now dude, fucking leave if you don't like it here!"

Are you sure? You may not be infected by this particular one, but it doesn't mean you aren't infected
- or it could be just that these people are mostly unknown to each other in the real life.
Which would be the definition of "lack of tight social groupings"
As a company, it is going to do whatever it can legally do to thwart its competition.
Apple might do that, but not all companies will do whatever they can legally do to thwart its competition.
The abusrdity is how often patents are given for something that isn't novel, or new.
If you have ever used any of Apple's products (especially OS X, iTunes or iOS) you know how great they are. They are also innovative to no end.
