    Actually, along these lines, Dr. Grandin, what are the most 'notable' behaviors (in your opinion) that you see displayed in animals:

    • at the individual level, and
    • at the group/social level

    I think I'm asking this about mammals (due to the advanced development of their brains), but if that assumption overly constrains the question, answer as broadly as you feel appropriate. References to published papers would also be great.

    Some people with autism experience sensory overload and anxiety. Do animals share that, or what is simliar/different between animals and people who have autism?

    Maybe they're doing it to bring reasonable-speed internet to people who otherwise would be hard-pressed to afford it, just to make the world suck a little less overall. They're also in a position to have the expertise, logistics, and muscle to make it happen, so why not?

    I like this solution. I would quickly become one of the new unemployed.

    Ah, but then you would find that you don't have enough money to do much.

    The solution to that problem presents itself:

    1. Become one of the new unemployed
    2. Find out where the newly unemployed non-corobots hang out
    3. Offer the lonely ones companionship for a cut of their future earnings
    4. Companionship turns them into co-robots, who are then employed
    5. Profit!

    That they think of themselves as "politicians" is the problem. The voters don't think of them that way. The voters (most are woefully naive and uninformed) think they're voting for "statesmen".

    By the way, what is the difference in definition of 'politician' versus 'statesman' in this context?

    So if you want to see a movie, listen to music or pay that ever increasing cable bill you are going to need money.

    You could have made the same argument a few decades ago about software, and look where we are today. Creative Commons content is growing continously, and with storage capacity increasing, it's not going away. You need money to connect to the Internet and download or stream digital content, but it's not an area where you have to pay to get a pretty rich experience.

    There was one like that once -- John Henry his name was, if I recall. Beat an electromechanical sewer cleaner in a side-by-side competition, then the man just dropped dead. True story, I was there.

    You're wrong on all counts -- I don't believe they haggle, and you can't back up your statements with citations. Besides, why would anyone haggle, bicker, or argue if they had something better to do?

    And why would anyone do that? I own my own robots ... The smelly homeless guy in the street expects me to shelter, cloth, and feed him?

    Possibly, but sounds like it would be in your best interest to have your robots at least wash, and possibly scent him. As a bonus, if they sheltered him, that would address the other issue as well.
