For all the lefties that keep talking about global oil conspiracies, take a look at the numbers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_tax
Taxes on gas in the US are roughly 46 cents/gallon
Taxes in the UK are around $3.49/(US)gallon
Taxes in Germany are around $6.28/gallon
No conspiracy, just taxes.
Aside from the US Govt's purchase of oil for the strategic petroleum reserver (I"m not sure but i think that it's filled now and they are no longer purchasing oil for it), what exactly are they doing to "Ensure that the government has as close to an endless supply as possible."? How exactly are they manipulating the oil market? You have been reading too much left wing propaganda. Certainly, there is speculation on the oil market, but it's by hedge funds and other large corporate investors, not the US Govt.
The fact that oil is traded in dollars may effect a country that is importing oil but it won't cause the price of gasoline to be cheaper in the US than elsewhere. Currency is freely traded and Oil is as well. The difference in prices is taxes. Transportation, refining, blending, etc are all pretty insignificant when compared to the differences in taxes.
I don't' know whether to take you seriously on this. (I hope you are kidding, otherwise you have absolutely no idea about economics.) Oil is a commodity and prices are set by supply and demand. The US govt has nothing to do with it being cheaper in the US than in Europe. The price difference is almost all tax.
The left has been manipulating the textbooks for years but now they whine because the right is doing the same thing. I don't agree with some of it (evolution , etc) but as everyone keeps pointing out, elections have consequences.
White Texans = Shining Path???
Wow, your ranting about everything from Beck and Palin or Hitler and the Shining Path only shows how little you know about Texas. I'll just point out one small thing for you: The same road that brought you into Texas will also lead you out. Feel free to take that path and not return.
There is little doubt that the email and files that were released were from the CRU and they contain emails showing that some of the leading people involved WERE actively trying to suppress papers by people with opposing viewpoints. Is it still a conspiracy theory when it's true?
I'm all for not sending money to the oil cartels but I'm not sure that this is actually correct. Sure, the electric car may seem cheap when you are only looking at the cost to fill it up nightly with electricity. Most of the costs are sunk into the purchase price. I don't think the math is going to add up. (especially since the govt subsidies should be included in the calculations.)
I think T Boon's idea about natural gas vehicles is much better.
There may be many issues with Notes (html rendering on older versions, etc), but this isn't one of them. The way notes handles views/folders is vastly superior to Outlook and other programs that just dump documents into folders. How much intelligence does it take for users to understand that if you delete a document it is deleted?
I think you are letting your personal opinions of Bush cloud your mind. I don't recall him saying any such thing, but even if did predict that gas would remain cheap, that in no way had any impact on the sale of SUV's/gas guzzlers. I think it is accurate to say that he prefers that consumers have the freedom to choose the cars they want, whether that is a Prius or a Hummer. Americans, based on their buying preferences over many years (long before Bush) have shown that they prefer larger cars and they should be free to buy what they want. (I know that is blasphemy in the church of environmentalism.)
If we have an infinite amount of monkeys, doesn't that mean we have an infinite amount of monkey shit? Therefore, all monkey produced Shakespeare would be buried in monkey shit.
It's not like we eat solid foods which contain all kinds of minerals.

OPEC causes the global price to rise. It doesn't cause it to rise in Europe but not in the US. There is a global market for Oil.
It has nothing to do with the oil companies. It's almost all tax.

Who calls it the War for Southern Independence? Everyone in the south knows it as the War of Northern Aggression :)
The US govt has already done this with some of the american jihadis.

I think we should be more concerned about politicians who earmark millions of dollars for their family. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0907/5667.html
Save the planet Save the dog Eat the environmentalists.
Is that why the "peaceful" muslim countries all attacked Israel right after it was founded?
I think it would operate a lot like amtrak... the us govt will sink tons of money into it and it will never come close to breaking even.

I think Cisco may be one step ahead of you. With their purchase of Ironport they get a lot of stuff from Senderbase they can incorporate to do this.
I don't recall that memo...
Nintendo is making a profit on each console and microsoft is losing how much?? I think the comparison to high margin luxury goods is a bit off.
