When I went to college we were not allowed to cite text books. We could use only peer reviewed journals (thank god for JSTOR), primary sources (since I was a poli/sci major this would be things like constitutions and the like), academic monographs (not textbooks), and interviews with notables. The only use wikipedia has for a student is for a broad overview (assuming the article is on the level) of a subject and some hints of where to perform further research (from the citations). Though, a strict reading of the APA style will indicate that ANY material that helped one arrive to a finished paper should be included in the bibliography - but just b/c a work is found in your bibliography does not mean that you use ideas or language from that work within your paper.
Sure... The "White Establishment" is the only group of people able to touch a screen or punch a hole. Its all a plot by whitey to ensure that no one else can vote. Is HijackedPublic's post based upon his seemingly racist assumption that only whites have the requisite ability to use touch screens? Is he attempting - himself - to hijack the public into believing that "clever" and "white" are synomonous?
Please remember though, I make no accusations and welcome any spelling/grammar corrections. lol
You're joking right? Trust a politician. Sounds dangerous to me. Of course, that does NOT mean that you should trust the other snake either. All snakes exhibit snake-like behavior.
Yeah, I'm sure all those good ol' boys who deer hunt and grow dope in the same woods they've lived around all their life would fall like grain to the sythe of the special weapons and tactics folks (sarcasm). And I'm not talking a Ruby Ridge "lets be stupid and hole up in a cabin." Yeah, I'm sure a SWAT team could sneak down an old country road in their truck emblazened with a SWAT logo. No one would see 'em I"m sure. The point is - I don't think the "readnecks" would be leaving the woods - the SWAT team would have to go after them. And national forests are generally pretty large. A lot of space for ambushed and the like.
And how much you bet the TSA settles during the resulting civil suite. They certainly didn't take the dude out into the woods and shoot him. Or send him to a re-education camp.
In the US we don't have a "Guardian Council" compriesed of religious figures that must literally approve every piece of legislation, for one. For another, we have freedom of expression - for example, I could publish a novel about Jesus and Mohammed's homoerotic entanglements and not be sanctioned by the government. I really hope you were kidding.
It seems as though the consideration would be the acceptance of your offer to buy their DRM protected media. In addition, couldn't your continued use of the product be considered "agreement" because of your "performance" (in useing said media). Though of course IANAL - I quit lawschool:)
I can agree with your statement that, "Republicans will likely do their best to block such research." However, from what source did you find "that many of these Republicans have barely a high school education." Surely Sen. Frist, the Senate majority leader who also has an M.D., had to have taken "basic high school-level introductory classes to biology."
But as far as the Republicans limiting the US's "ability to take advantage of the upcoming developments and discoveries [in stem cell research]" - I find that unlikely. One, the states themselves in some cases have approved funding for stem-cell research. Two, I personally find it unlikely that the Republicans will control both the legislature and Presidency in the coming years.
"What happens electronically can be more real, longer lasting, than any real-world event..." I've repeatedly said the same thing time and time again. When we rode to the gates of the Undercity and spat our defiance via/yell and/fart options will always remain with me. Seriously folks, the loss of our civil rights and uncounted "real" world atrocities aren't that big of a deal - its not like they have your social security numbers or e-bay accounts. Yet.
The problem with that argument is that civil cases, such as the one Ms. Foster is involved with, have nothing to do with guilt or innocence. Civil cases only determine liability. However, I think you have a point with criminal cases and plea bargains.
Actually a judge who made a ruling would would only take the "teeth out of the law" for the future defendants in their jurisdictions. E.g. An appealate court's decision in, say the Sixth District Federal Court, is only controlling in the Sixth District. However, other districts may take notice of the opinion and even use some of the same language - but its not controlling.
Keep taling the good word anonymous coward!
single-member district plurality voting = nuff said

Was that an AD&D reference? If so, we need to start all over and roll inititive :)
Perhaps you are the one that does not understand sarcasm.

I wonder who he's dating.... Maybe E! can cover this in one of the their hard hitting investigative reports. I bet he's a scientologist too!

I've heard some horror stories from folks wherein Geico refused to pay their probably legitimate claims.
