I'm sorry, but if you have to say "I'm not retarded", then you probably are. You make some compelling arguments in favor of the Dell Precision, but your playing of the "R" card lends less credibility to your argument. Next time, maybe dispense with the insults?
Zoobah is great. There is a parental interface which lets you create address books and control who email goes to and comes from. You can set it up so that all inbound/outbound email shows up in a queue for approval. Highly recommended. My 8 year old loves emailing her family members.
I agree. I've had a T42 for over a year now, and this thing is solid. I've had two full glasses of water spilled on it and after drying out, it's back to business. Only downside is the keyboards aren't quite as good as they used to be.

What do you recommend using on a Mac and PC?

What's wrong is that it's simply too expensive.
Funny thing is, $30 is what 3G data costs now with AT&T. So, it's not iPhone specific pricing.
Just FYI... the new data plan with AT&T is $30/month while the old plan (Edge) was only $20/month
...and what's wrong with a 3G data plan costing more than a 2G data plan? I personally don't have an issue with paying more $ for a faster connection.
