Dell and HP already do sell Linux boxes. It is only North America that is behind the curve - as usual. Linux adoption in other countries is rather higher.
Interesting - most furnaces require an electric blower to move air through the ducts and won't fire, if the power fails. The BlueFlame models are vent free - no chimney and no blower. They have protection against oxygen depletion. However, they won't work in really cold areas, where oxygen depletion is guaranteed to happen.
Upgrading a library... Have you considered the astronomical cost to train 20 million people in New York city to read, so they can actually use the library?
If you factor in all the training costs to teach a child to read, the true cost of a book must be several thousand dollars. So we should stop teaching the children and close all schools.
Not true. It only happens if input is not range checked. It usually means that some lazy idiot used one of the zero terminated string functions in C, instead of the new ones that have an explicit length. For example, strcpy() instead of strncpy().
I guess the planet is really ruled by mice and that they are forcing scientists the world over to work on curing mouse diseases, as expounded in HHGG.
Wow, dude - I pasted that into Google and got one hit! Amazing...
I can browse the net all day long with Linux and not encounter any risky stuff, except for a few Goatse type images...

You don't have to search very far - just have a quick look-see in c:\progra~1
Ugh, please don't invite me to your meetings, dude... ;)
probably serves the whole country. So that could not have been too difficult...
Actually, you can - just don't ever, ever, move the mouse while switching.
Can't they just create any numbers they want? Why go to the trouble of faking the visitors if you can directly fake the numbers even more easily?
Don't turn the thing off.

Much higher than that actually - consider that at least 90% of the code is re-used code from WinXP and was already paid for.
"Standalone computers/OSes are a thing of the past and dumb-terminals/browsers/web services are going to kill them."
I've heard that back in '75...

I know you are joking, but there is a lot of GPL code in military systems.
Were these musicians hiding out in Millyways perhaps?

It is just slightly below: "Nothing to see here, please move along".
Or maybe he can dig a tunnel to Mexico. He can't use an existing Mexican tunnel, due to all the oncoming traffic...
