    Well, actually age, gender and illness does count. In Canada for example, women and children have special rights and there is universal medicare - the state has a duty to protect the young, the old and the infirm. Even in the harsh US of A, there is Social Security, Child Welfare programs, Food Stamps and so on. Therefore, although it isn't enshrined in a Bill of Rights, these rights do exist in the USA too and the judge has to take it into consideration.

    Well, you can sue anybody for anything. That is how the legal system works. Sueing someone doesn't mean that you are going to win the argument though, but it is more civilized than having a fist fight about it.

    Hmm, I have repaired quite a few infected Linux servers. The trouble with a spambot on a Linux box, is that it is so damned efficient, especially since they are typically on an optical fibre backbone.

    Install Mandriva. It plays nice in groups and by default installs itself to dual boot with Windows. Therefore, you don't need any extra hardware. You can also learn a lot from CDROM distributions such as Knoppix and Puppy. For tose 3 buddies of yours, you should make 3 Puppy Linux discs.

    Most of their money came from governments. Government departments spend fantastic amounts of money on software - hundreds of millions per year, per state. Now guess where that money comes from.

    Doesn't matter - if you take a fair chunk of money and invest it at a good rate of return, compounded annually, it will eventually be worth nothing. Don't believe me? So how much is a Spanish (the origin of the Dollar sign) worth today? Not to mention Lira, Drachma and a whole zoo of now defunct currencies.

    The government simply turns all your phones on whenever they want to. Anybody working in telephone R&D can tell you that *all* phone sets can be turned on remotely. The only way to be private is to unplug all phones and remove the battery from your cell phone.

    Sure, in a Library, I would recommend using a CDROM based Linux installation. Then you just reboot whenever you want to start fresh. The machine doesn't even need a hard disk.
