That's great. On the flip side, my premiums have gone up every year at a much higher rate than before obamacare. Additionally, working at an insurance company now, I am seeing many plans (including my own) do away with copays entirely and switch to co-insurance plans that don't pay until you hit some godawful deducatable.
Obamacare hurt a ton of people with increased cost in insurance, reduced wages, and reduced hours. ObamaCare was not the solution to the insurance problem - in fact, it has made it much worse. I am starting to believe the stories that it was designed to make the insurance field fail to force us to single-payor.
The reason that people villainize hobby lobby is that they take the insulting stance of not trusting their own employees to do what is right and moral according to their own morals, and they want to enforce their own religious views upon the private lives of those employees. They don't know that any of their employees are doing any such thing, but they made a big deal about it being even possible, and want to create an option where they can take the power to make those decisions out of the hands of their employees..
Once again, they were paying for birth control pills for employees. And just because something is done "in private" doesn't mean it's right and forcing someone else to pay so that it can "privately" be done is just as wrong.
You are saying that the employee should be able to force their moral views on their employer even though that employee is the one with a choice on whether to even work for that company (Hobby Lobby cannot ask "would you get an abortion" and use that answer as part of their official hiring practice.)
The fact that Hobby Lobby didn't reduce their employees to part time and stop offering insurance (like so many other companies did) shows that they are not just trying to screw the employee.
The same "group that's against a large, invasive federal government" that loves telling women what they can't do with their bodies?
People keep forgetting that the tea party - or republicans - did not start that fight. The democrats did. And they deliberately included abortion inducing drugs to force the fight. Most social conservatives do not give a shit either way about birth control but do feel strongly against abortion.
Hobby Lobby, who most people like to villainize, always covered birth control for their employees. It was the addition of those abortion pills that they fought against.
The TEA Party is just a branch office of the GOP who have latched onto taxes as a single-issue voting bloc. Go find me a TEA Party candidate who is pro-choice and also opposes warrantless wiretapping, Stingrays, etc.
Most Tea Party candidates oppose warrantless wiretapping, Stingrays, etc. In fact, most do not care for the GOP at all (and the GOP wishes that the tea party would go away.)
Pro-choice is a human rights issue for those that believe that a fetus is a life. Regardless of whether you see a fetus that way, for those people, they do believe that the government should prevent what they see as murder.
As much as people would like to argue that being pro-life is simply "the man" trying to control a woman, it is morally much more complicated than that.
It will be so nice standing in a busy supermarket about to pay only to realize you forgot to charge your phone, won't it?
Or forgot your wallet? That happens to me more often than not having a charged phone. Granted, everyone's mileage will vary with this as with anything else.
Why would anyone want to pay with a phone? How is it any more convenient than paying by card or cash? Not to mention the enormous invasion of privacy which gives them all the info about your finances.
Well, if you are using the app directly from the credit card company / bank, I imagine the privacy factor is about the same whether using a card or a phone. I'd much rather carry my phone around and leave my credit cards at home. It's easier for me to keep track of my phone and I notice if it is missing much faster than if a card (or wallet) is missing.
Hopefully the apps from the bank work with rooted phones. I haven't had a chance to use this tech yet (even though I have a Note 5) since I rooted my phone - which stops Samsung and Android Pay from working.
I imagine if they didn't file a report and this happened again but information was stolen, it would look like they had been covering up a history of negligence - even if they did take steps to beef up their security.
Also, not reporting it could make it seem they were not even aware the hack happened which could embolden people to keep trying.
if you know how to get the blue collar types to stop giving a rat's ass about social issues, stop blaming Unions for their troubles and get them voting for popularist economic policies that are in their best interest again please let me know.
Whenever someone tells me they know what's in my best interest, I worry.
And why does it have to be the blue collar types that have to stop caring about social issues? They are not the ones bringing up these social issue topics. The democrats progressives are and the people react to them.
People don't realize how much the political landscape has changed in the past 10 years. The democrat party is more in bed with wall-street than the republicans could have ever dreamed of. When you throw in the tech and entertainment industry, you realize that the bulk of the 1% are dmeocrats playing lip service to people like you that don't realize that the landscape shifted beneath them.
Most setups nowadays just require an initial setup and your done.
It's great when you have kids that do watch things a million times over. It's also great when you are in the middle of a Netflix marathon and they end up having to drop the show. I typically use Netflix to find a show, watch all the seasons they have, then move to my server which - by then - is much more up to date. Plus, I like the viewing controls for Kodi much better.
Have you played w/ the 'direct access' or 'file mapping'? I forget the term that is used by Emby. Instead of Emby processing and relaying the file, a link that is directly accessible by the client is offered.
I'll look for that as soon as I get home - thanks for the tip!
I just started using Emby on my QNAP server. It seems to stream very slow over my local network and the plugins I have tried do not work.
When I run XBMC using NFS over the same local network, there are no problems streaming.
Unfortunately, there is no xbmc for Roku so I was hoping for something to replace that.
That said, the interface in incredible on the client side for both my amazon fire box and my roku. I'm really hoping to solve the streaming issue (any just loading up my library is slow - but once it's up - it is a thing of beauty.
I paid for one month and will probably switch to the lifetime membership if I can get everything worked out.
I've got a Nexus 6 at the moment, and it still does not have Marshmallow. I want to wait for the OTA rather than flash it myself, but come November 15, this device is gone.
Like how Republicans are in bed with Wall Street when 80% of Wall Street donations go to the democrats? Or that Democrats are the party of diversity - but don't look at the presidential line up vs the republicans
I'll bite. What is in your email that you don't want Google knowing?
My son's phone number, that is not Android and I don't want nobody out of the family to know. Just for starters.
They knew his phone number the moment one of your family or his friends added it to their android contact book.
I have my contact book going through owncloud, but highly doubt everyone that has the phone numbers I have has done the same.
I thought of setting my own email server a few months ago. The problem is that all of my family and friends has either a gmail address or an old aol one. So whether I go to the trouble of running my own server or not, google is still getting my emails.
Children due dangerous things. They stab people with knives, they hit people with blocks, and they always - at any house - somehow find the most poisonous cleaning product in the house.
People kept safe by having a gun is also severely under-sampled since it usually prevents a crime from taking place. Guns can be an equalizer. When a 100 lb woman or man is being attacked at home (or on the street) against a 200 lb assailant, equalizers are needed.
To block passengers in your car from doing useful tasks
Most modern cars have weight sensors in the front seats, so the computer will know if there is someone in the passenger seat. If the car is in motion, and there is no passenger, then it is reasonable to change the UI behavior.
I'd agree if it actually worked that way. My Camry's entertainment center does not detect for a passenger - not sure I really want that much data being tracked by my car, but that ship has sailed.
I wish they would set it up like Waze where it asks you if you are a driver or passenger. Seems like that would cover the car companies liab
Mine 2015 Camry as well. Same with trying to set the navigation to anything other than a past address or saved address - which is frustrating because it has the worst voice recognition I have ever seen.
We can try. Where do you live? What type of job are you looking for? What kind of job will you settle for?
That's great. On the flip side, my premiums have gone up every year at a much higher rate than before obamacare. In my case....my driver's license is IN my wallet.
Mine too. I'm just amazingly unorganized.... I don't know why I don't just leave it in my car.
The same "group that's against a large, invasive federal government" that loves telling women what they can't do with their bodies?

You really think that Obama is against this? Exactly which party do you think gets the most money from the entertainment industry?
So you are basically saying that since they started this policy, they should have followed it all the way through?

Yeah they should load up their websites and apps with ads instead!
What could possibly go wrong...
Where did you get that conclusion from the parent post?
What are some of the right wing shows on the BBC?

Our destinations frequently have no Internet access. I shouldn't have to seek it out in order to read books that I've already paid for.
Just curious, what did you do before e-readers?
