Unhealthy people produce less and require more from society. The sicker they are, the more this is true. Eventually society may have to let people die that they technically could save because they can not afford the resources to keep these people alive.
These kind of stories are why we have things like the school shooting. It's not guns. This counrty has always had lots of people with guns.
What has changed is the way we see life. We see human life and teach it to our children as a problem. It's an overpopulation problem, people are evil, people are the earth's enemy, etc.
Movies like avator, underworld (last one,) planet of the apes, district 9, and others all show humanity (except for the film's heros) as revolting.

The thing is, regulations tend to only destroy small businesses. Large business can usually absorb new regulations with the capital they already have but they can ruin smaller mom and pop business and prevent people from even getting into those areas.
Only Amazon Prime works with Linux. There is even a plugin for XBMC to be able to import amazon shows to your library. I love it. In fact, I like it better than the Amazon app on the PS3 as the xbmx plugin lets you filter out the non-prime stuff
I sometimes wish we had to provide a reason when we downmod something. I don't agree at all with dadorg, but he explained his view and why he saw adblocking as stealing.
I'm the same way. Unless I am buying a brand to make a statement (chick-fa-la,) the only time a brand comes into play is when that brand has been disqualified as a whole in my mind.
But I think you and I are rare - or there is at least an awful lot of people that do by based on brand. My wife sticks to Samsung phones because that brand has always worked well for her.
I use Linux to run XBMC (my video media center) at my house. So does my brother at his dorm and my mom at her home and my dad in his.
That said, I do dual boot for most of my games but I hate it to the point that I just don't bother to play that many games anymore. It's not convenient having to stop whatever is going on in the background of my linux machine just to play a game in windows for an hour. I am really hoping that Steam changes that.
I tried a quick google search but did not find the answer. How much do hostess employees make on average? It's funny that the CEO's salary is mentioned constantly but not how much the employees make. Where they overpaid for what they do or underpaid? I image if they were making minum wage with no benefits, the union papers that I read would mention that.
We have seen only the opposite of that proposed by Congress. Do you really think that the progressive democrats are about to suddenly start down your path (even though they haven't yet) and Issa is trying to beat them to it?
They don't hear it because the republicans (aside from Gingrich who has almost no creditably) don't speak about it. The same can be said about Catholic adoptions agencies that have to shut down in states that have legalized gay marriage.
That story should have been the part of Ryan's response in the VP debate. It should have been advertised to show how extreme Obama's views were.
In fact, I doubt anybody who gets their news from CNN or MSNBC have ever heard of that story but I'm sure they all heard of the idiotic rape comments those two republicans made.
You are trying to prove Scottbombs post about how it is ok to make fun of Christians, right? But you and trum4u (plus whoever down-modded Scott) are doing a great job!
My wife has progressive MS. Taking Tysabri helped slow it down a whole lot but she had to stop since she tested at risk for PML.
It has been a frustrating and traumatic 15 years for her but she has managed to stay more upbeat than I would have and her faith in God and in her family is stronger than anyone I know.
It is an difficult disease to explain to people for the very reasons you posted. The treatments are also rapidly changing so it is important to find a doctor that specializes in MS. Us switching doctors is probably the reason my wife can still walk.

I miss the world domination Bond villains. They have been replaced by evil capitalists - which makes cultural sense since anyone raised in today's schools see capitalists as the nazis of our time.
So at what magical line does someone's job make them worthy of being able to pay for a car, health insurance, or a house? How did you decide on this cutoff point?
I was never surprised by my paycheck. I knew what I would get paid when I was hired. When I needed more money, I got a better paying job.
That sounds like a personal problem to me. Do you have self esteem issues? Just because you don't value your own time and labor doesn't mean that you (or anyone else in a low paying job) is a worthless human being that doesn't deserve a decent life.
My time was valued. These jobs are not designed to pay for these things. They are designed for people working afterschool or for people living at home that just want spending money or to help out at home.
It sounds like you were a privileged child that never had to work a minimum wage job before and have no idea why people work these jobs. I can't think of any other reason you would think that a job aimed at a teenager should pay enough for a house, car, etc.
No having rights granted to a collective doesn't imply that the individuals lose their rights. The individuals are still individuals regardless of what they come together and do.

They don't want to learn a new OS
Wouldn't that apply to Windows 8?

Any suggestion or idea coming from him has some hidden purpose.
I recommend veto.
I love how progressives are willing to put partisanship aside...
I feel that way about Reid and Pelosi but I would not take the action you suggested.
I liked Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I'd still play it if it hadn't been overrun by bot players.
Neither side wants "moderates." Ask blue dog and pro-life democrats how welcome they are.
Long signatures are ego version of little man syndrome.

It is if you are part of the 90%. Hey, that's close to being in the 99%!
You can find a reason to mock any group of people. It doesn't mean that you should.
That's as fair as lumping all atheists with Stalin, Kim Jong, and Dahmer.

I remember the Republicans telling Todd Akin to withdraw from the race after his comments.
Here are a few..

So unions should not have rights?
