Entrapment is only when the police cause a crime to happen where there wouldn't be one.
If a cop comes up to a drug dealer and bought drugs from them, that is not entrapment.
If a cop comes up to someone who isn't a drug dealer and pesters them to get drugs for them and they do, that is entrapment.
"After all don't you wince when you hit something in your car? Some people even exclaim "ouch" as if they were themselves hurt. I suspect it's an artifact of being able to use tools that enables us to tack on a tool as a "temporary body part""
I realize I am sorta picking apart the non-important part of your argument(which I don't necessarily disagree with), but I really do feel this a poor example. Of course you wince when you hit something in your car...it usually means you just damaged your car. And people usually say ouch in such a situation either ironically or because, you know, they got jarred/hurt.
Uh, I don't know how long it takes you to type a couple words into a text field then click a link, but your time must be worth a lot more than mine if that's even countable to you.
Now I admit I have not studied the bible either(though I also don't try to explain it), but do you honestly believe that your opinion is as valid as someone who actually studied the book you're discussing?
"Even if I lie to obtain those transcripts; I still haven't broken any laws. Lying is not against the law unless you are under oath."...Fraud isn't illegal?
My question, and do forgive me if I overlooked this in the article, is how would this affect private universities? I'll be attending one in just a couple of months, and I know they operate under different guidelines than a public university, so how would something like this affect a student at a private university?
Well you see, stopping the base head dealing rocks on the corner is a lot harder to deal with than some teenager you pull over that you can easily intemidate.
Well, no.
You see, the French Revolution didn't actually occur until around 1789. That was 17 years after America's Declaration of Independence(1776). So in reality, a lot of the French Revolution actually was sparked by the American Revolution.
What else would someone use a computer for, period?

Correct; but it's not claiming to be free energy at all.
Emission-free energy.

Democracy is the worst form of government ... except all the others that have been tried.
It's a lot less misleading when you actually finish the quote.
Uhm... Natalie Portman?

I've never studied biology, but I'm an expert at it's intricacies.
The motivation?
Passion, sir. Passion.
What do you think this is, America?
It's okay; it's normal to be jealous of people who can do things you can't.
And how large of a blade exactly do you think it takes to kill a person?
It doesn't need to be three inches, I'll tell you that much. Espically if the person is unarmed...or asleep in their bed.
"This is, to my mind, the grossest abuse of Moore's law"
Abuse of Moore's Law? Tell me, how exactly does one abuse an observation?
It just seems like everyone treats Moore's Law like it's something more than an observation and prediction.
It's a shame that these people that are so worried about their precious 'internet' don't even relize that it's actually the Internet.
Point is, don't try to call other people out for being ignorant when you're not much better yourself.
Holy shit, I've seen those things too, and no one would actually believe me till they saw it.
Anyway, always wondered what the hell they were.
I for one welcome our new...
Ah, shit.

It's turtles all the way down.
I for one welcome our new Slashdot overlords.
