You're sure? Well I'm sure that it's much easier to just record the sound of water than simulate it in real time to get the same sound. We'll see it eventually (maybe when it's even remotely feasible?) but nobody's in a hurry to start measuring their games in seconds-per-frame.. well, maybe CryTek.
Eh, I think his point is that any work done to offset gravity is done by gravity to get back down. What comes up must come down. You're right though because there's a lot of energy lost to friction and your muscles have to contribute a lot.
The lift on the wings and weight of the body just makes it more remarkable that they're able to fly for long periods of time because those forces conspire to make that V shape and the bird has to fight it. And that resistance isn't from effortless (and painful) locking of bones, it's from strong muscles and ligaments.
You missed my point.. it's not the research that costs a trillion dollars it's the availability of high-tech materials, the hundred million dollars to buy them, the industrial infrastructure to process them, the engineers with masters degrees to put them together, and the fighter pilots with 15 years of experience to fly them. If you're the dictator of some piddling third-world country, all of those requirements are out of reach.
I think the Bing results page looks like one of those fake domain-parked search result pages. I saw it on a few customers' machines today and honestly thought that it was some new malware.
A stack of paper is a long way from air superiority.. Military secrecy isn't as effective as the trillion dollar cost of entry for competing in the air.
I know, I find it hard to believe that they've been able to hide it from their citizens for 20 years. Are there any (urban) Chinese who still haven't heard about it?
They might actually make more money this way. Microsoft seems torn between:
Cripple the cheap version to force people to buy the expensive Windows while keeping the sticker price low. Most users don't consider switching to Linux an option so we can charge as much as we want.
Maybe basic netbook users aren't even looking for advanced features that scare people away from a new OS
The only reason for arbitrary limitations (it costs them nothing to unlock them) is to encourage people to buy the more expensive version instead. That logic has worked in the past because users haven't seen anywhere else to go (except even further up the price range with Apple), but Linux is doing well on netbooks and I think MS is starting to figure that out.

What is this "net"? Just use the first line as a telegraph line. Hook it up to a lightbulb or something.
Well that's income tax but this new tax would be a sales tax, and there is such a thing as sales tax evasion.
I think that if you sell stolen goods and make tons of money then you do have to pay taxes on it or you face tax evasion charges.

What does GM China making sales in China have to do with the army riding jeeps?
I think you're right; you can't just build a cell tower on your roof and run your own interfering service. You do need an FCC license.
They went so far to the right that they overflowed to the left. Just subtract a few.
It would play DODS or CSS fine. There's no reason to upgrade as long as you're happy with classics and don't drool over the latest releases.

If you put it up over the entire internet, China will block the entire internet.

If you're such a prodigy maybe you can come up with your own ideas.
But is it for lack of looking or for lack of jobs available?

Maybe the entire XML-editing program is only worth $98, not just a single copy :)
Again, I get the joke. But it's wrong. The CoS can no longer edit registered or anonymous.
To be fair, Conservapedia is fundamentalist, not just conservative.
I get the joke but it's wrong
Healthcare isn't just expensive, it's extremely expensive. Suggesting that you declare bankruptcy every time you go to the hospital is preposterous.
What home?
It's an IP ban not username ban..
