Similar experience... I've gone to see some things on opening night and wanted to throttle some people, but I haven't done that in years. I haven't had many bad experiences lately... it used to be more common. I think enough people complain about it that perhaps it happens less often, and when you wait a couple of weeks to see movies in practically empty theaters, there's much less of a chance of there being a complete jerk present when there's only 12 people as opposed to 250.

Still - 1/3 to 1/4 the price seems about right. At least half, and that;s with NO discount. This is an absurd waste of tax payer dollars, but hey, I don't have to care because I don't live in CA, right?

I know the summary focuses on the content, though; I'm not sure what people want. Do you want standardized textbooks across the country or not? By the way most people whine about it, god forbid states should come up with their own curriculum.

Agree... not a huge fan of netflix, but despite occasional problems ("buffering" messages and artifacts), 99% of the time it's a good quality image on our 42 inch TV (played from a PS3). We also watch on tablets and smaller TVs with few problems.

The problem with netflix is indeed the content, not the streaming, IMO. It's worth the monthly charge only because there's four of us who can use it on our tablets, and they do get decent new stuff occasionally... Just saw Para-Norman and it was quite good.

But yes, those official meetings should not just have the minutes released, they should be broadcast live, and our elected officials should NOT be allowed to meet in private except in cases of national security - even then it should be recorded and released at a later date.

I used Mandrake way back when, but right now I use Ubuntu - although I used straight Debian, too, for a while. I'm just wondering "Why Mageia," and I don't see on their website any reasons why they forked or why I should try or support Mageia over anything else.

Capitalism certainly does do that - I'm guessing you're well fed, with a roof over your head, sitting in front of a computer with internet access, wearing decent clothes, perhaps in good health with decent dental care, maybe glasses... all things provided to you by capitalists through a mutual exchange that both parties found satisfactory.

You're also most likey employed (or will be) by a capitalist.

Gordon Gecko said it in Wall Street... yes, fictional, but a good point- "Greed is good." No, I don't particularly care for people I consider "too" greedy, but even going back to all those "robber barons" in the days of yore, they built this country (yes, I'm being US-centric), creating millions of jobs, making goods accessible nationwide in a way that simply wasn't possible before, benefitting nearly everybody along the way... and people can only seem to focus on the part that they got rich doing it.

It's true that sometimes people go to far, Enron being a prime example, but the fact is that cases like that are few and far between in the grand scheme of things - put it in perspective, ask how many capitalist businesses there are out there, all run by people mostly who just want to make money, that are all run honestly, within the bounds of the law, and employing millions and providing goods and services to millions more... where, exactly, is the problem? Has there ever been a system that has done more for the common person than capitalism?
