oh and add an extra fuck you. when you build it yourself, nothing comes standard and nothing is guaranteed to work. and lets not forget the time. obviously yours isn't particularly important/expensive.

you mean i could "save the mac premium" and buy the cards and hope to christ the company that makes them isn't going to disappear in 2 months, or that the drivers won't crash - insert os here - because they're written by a half-blind monkey on a chinese typewriter.
the "macs cost more" thing is a load of shit and you all know it. spec out a pc from a COMPANY (none of this home made frankenstein bullshit) and generally the stuff people harp on about (ie the macpro) comes out cheaper when configured the same.
and before you go on about "i want to build my own". fuck you. i don't. my time is precious, and expensive.

Hell. why the fuck is ANYONE even taking seriously a company that is selling a computer with OBVIOUS compatibility issues? Who the fuck buys a computer that drops it's DHCP lease every 15 minutes. I mean, how is that NOT a show-stopper?

Well if they'd "cloned" an XBOX or a PS3, you'd still have an XBOX or a PS3. if they made a half baked rip-off that played 90% of the games, worked with 50% of the accessories and would only work at SD resolution, you'd have something comparable to this Psystar monstrosity. also, given that I don't spend my life playing games, I couldn't give two shits if someone made a hybrid 360/PS3, much less cloned one.

Simple: 1) Goto www.apple.com/store/ in a browser 2) Select desired form factor. 3) Identify predefined configuration and click "Configure" 4) Purchase. You wouldn't beleive how well it will meet Apple's specs. And you wont even have to install OSX, it'll be pre-installed. Seriously though, all this shit about "i want OSX but I don't want to buy a mac" is ridiculous. Either buy a mac, or go back to your parents basement and fuck your dog some more. You wouldn't buy a cheap-ass Hyundai and then try to force the seats and interior from a Mercedes into it, would you? If you really want to install osx on your POS frankenstein PC, go ahead, and wait to see how many things don't work because SUPRISE SUPRISE, OSX is built to work with APPLE HARDWARE. Stop being such fucking dick brains and get a real fucking job so you can buy a real fucking computer.

Yes, Microsoft should go out of their way to make sure their software works well with obscure OSes like OSX and Linux.

it's nothing to do with "obscure OSes". sharepoint provides a browser based solution. you may not be aware, but browsers render HTML, and XHTML and XML. these are all internationally recognised STANDARDS. you are also probably not aware but microsoft has a HISTORY of FAILING to implement these standards, and instead working on obscure non-standard functionality. this applies to both their server software and their browsers.

we (agency i work for) are in the process of implementing a MOSS (Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server) 2007 intranet. let me tell you now, it's painful. i'm leaving the organisation in 12 weeks, so with any luck i won't have to deal with this shit again soon.

right, i'm sure the chernobyl victims consider nuclear power green? anything that can achieve the same result, while consuming less energy has the potential to be greener. imagine lower-power parts throughout the house. imagine you can cut your power needs by 30% overall. now imagine you use things like solar or wind power, that do not consume resources. they are typically "low" sources of power, so a requirement for less power automatically makes them more feasible. also, imagine the second and third level effects. a device using a lot of electrical energy will put off a lot of heat, which may require a lot of cooling to counteract (imagine a server room for instance, or even the fans in a PC) - these also draw electricity.
