Is it just me, or does it seem the job of 'editor' on an English language news site should come with the requirement that those filling it should not fail at basic English literacy?
Yes. However, the more important problem is that the number of people who can write English properly is diminishing; this leaves fewer people qualified for the job of editor, so editing standards also diminish over time.
Clearly we need to get rid of this "air" problem. If there's no medium to sniff the keystrokes from, our children will be safe. WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?
I tried playing Team Fortress II, but felt like an idiot screwing over my teammates because I had no clue what I was doing.
You don't need to know what you're doing to have fun. I've lost repeatedly on certain TF2 servers and still enjoyed myself. It's all about what your mindset is coming into the game.
Find things to do on the map that make you happy. My personal favorites:
As a pyro, make runs for the enemy battlements and light unsuspecting snipers on fire. Continue this no matter how many times you die... eventually they get pissed off and ragequit. Commence chat lulz.
As a scout, run around like an idiot beating people in the head with a baseball bat. Extremely annoying to the enemy and you can't beat the sound effect.
As a medic, Ubercharge that scout with the baseball bat for the lulz. Nothing's more humiliating than being beaten down by a scout you couldn't kill.
As a demoman, hone your "twitch" skill with stickybombs. Grisly, educational, and extremely effective in defensive situations.
Or if you're still hung up on the whole "I need to be effective to have fun" thing, Engineer is a great class for less skilled players. Set up a turret, set up a dispenser, and learn the map as you find effective places to set up your teleporter. Yeah, you'll have to deal with skilled players sapping you, but it's a significantly less "twitchy" class.
I'm afraid I can't get excited about your fantasy, your meteoric rise. You're going to have a hard time penetrating the already-saturated "jizz ogle" market.
The fact that they had to pay more for a machine that was Vista capable, when the basic machines weren't Vista capable (yet labeled as such) is a big part of that argument.
Something like having a requirement to make a reactor (have a resource), then make it, then remove/reuse the resource without the reactor being shut down / removed, then rinse n repeat?
Basically, yes... someone removed the resource silo link when the reactor was running, and the reactor continued to create material after the resources were cut.
So why should I go for the new system when it's not clear if it will perform better then XP?
I can only hope that the average consumer feels the same way... my guess is:
1. They'll upgrade because they need new version of program X.
2. They aren't aware of the alternatives.
3. They don't want to take the time to learn the alternatives.
Fortunately, the longer that people hold off on upgrading to Windows $NEXT_VERSION, the more time we have to promote our preferred alternative, whether Mac, Linux, BSD, etc.
With it being a water-filled system instead of an air-filled pressurized tube, I'd be interested in knowing how deep it can dive without squishing the person inside. The article says he's going to spend just over a month "living" in it at 2 meters underwater, but if they're going to call it a submarine, I'd like to see it go deeper than that.
Most of the profit centers on the internet are red light district cameras, and very few people complain. I don't see how this is any... ... oh.
Red stoplight cameras. Excuse me.
That's nothing compared to his crysknife.

Little did he know that if all people know is crap they actually begin to prefer it.
And that's why 2009 will not be the year of Linux on the Desktop.

Jizzogle!

I can hear it now: "We need these open-source drug pushers off our streets!"
The board's Integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 GPU supports resolutions up to 2560x1600 and can supply HDMI video at up to 1080p (1920x1200).
The Link's OS also comes with ATI's proprietary 3D-accelerated graphics driver preinstalled.
If only I had mod points...
Subscription to Wiley Interscience required for more...
So, what you're saying is, these functional neurons will allow us to make mega men?
It's okay, this is only the Orbital Cannon Observatory that the GDI will watch the destruction from. This observatory can't hurt us at all.

I am also hoping for a Kwicky. Oh, wait...

Personally, I'm upset that they reverted the Facebook ToS change. The modification retconned the timeline with Facebook TNG.

You've made my week.
I wish I had mod points.
I even have a binder labeled in big letters with a sharpie on the bookshelf "READ ME IF KEVIN DIES IN TRAGIC CAR ACCIDENT". Not kidding.
The joke's on you - you'll die of natural causes and nobody will read the binder. :P
Please don't. Unless you want your boxers to go down a lot.
There, fixed that for you.
In Milwaukee, WI, most of the analog channels have been running banners and commercials for weeks.

Sounds like another distinction I have in my head that doesn't exist in the real world. Thank you for the correction.
