ssh -X gives you all the gui you need on linux. You can even use cygwin as a client. Mac osx comes with a xserver client that automatically launches when that command is run.
I don't see how it can be more accessible in California. I have a harder time going to the DMV.
Step 1: sign up to vote. Make sure you check vote by mail. Step 2: receive vote by mail ballot. Step 3: research your issues/candidates Step 4: Fill out your ballot Step 5: return by mail. Step 6: wait for next election. Return to step 2.
If you want to do new things, then have the entrepreneurs start a new company. Google is in the position to buy them out when they come up with something good. Isn't this the corporate way? Google is too big to do everything in house. I seem to remember they acquired youtube and picasa. If Larry Page wants to work at a small company then he should quit and if you ask me he seems a bit sentimental.
I find the opposite is true. Nothing is more attractive than holding and protecting a crying woman. It really pumps up testoterone and triggers deeper emotions, which often naturally leads to sex.
Naturally taking advantage of a woman when she is vulnerable leads to sex. It's ok if you're already involved, but she might regret it later.
Great....maybe netgear will wise up and put a toslink connector on the back of it so some of us can still use our old avr systems. Stereo doesn't cut it.
ISPs have been injecting ads for years. Have you ever tried one of those free isps? I don't think it's going to catch on with mainstream ISPs because people don't like to pay for something and still get bombarded by ads. It still amazes me that cable television can get away with it, but DVRs have almost solved that problem.
I have a very basic understanding of how the system works. IR beam gets sent out and the CMOS sensor picks up the pattern and interprets the z axis information.
I would imagine that there are inherent problems with this. If the pattern is too spaced out then resolution suffers. If the pattern is too close together then there are many errors. The processing must be complicated. I bet even the type of clothing you're wearing has an effect on it.
Seems kinda hypocritical that someone who reads/. would shut down a means to freely access information. Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised it was shut down tomorrow..
Dr. Evil would be so happy.

MS Word just seems to make printing envelopes painless.
Try it with libreoffice. I bet you won't find it as easy.
Copy and pasting addresses is faster than handwriting them.

Depends on the GPL version though. the anti-tivoization clause of GPLv3 makes compliance more difficult. Some organizations ban GPLv3 all together.
Busybox is GPLv2, which no one should complain about that.
If you can't watch them, then bring your microwave ovens and knock out their WiFi. FBI won't be able to watch either.
I wonder if those gamma-ray scanners are going to be looking for microwave ovens.
I took all the math for a B.S. in Computer Science. I don't consider myself a mathematician.
The funny thing is that I used to work with a mathematician who thought he was a programmer. It was quite frustrating.
It takes years for someone to develop the essential skills to work on software development.
The fact is you can call yourself whatever you want, but I doubt anyone will hire you as a software developer after a year.
Your slashdot comments don't get copyright protection either.
I hope that doesn't happen here in America. To me thats unconscionable.
By posting that on /. you probably increased Asinine's record audience by several factors of magnitude.

You can call me a yank all you want, but fibre just looks weird.

And if it were collected during sex? I guess that would be tricky.
Spidweb seems to take things a bit personally. Good thing he doesn't read forums; I don't think he could take this criticism.
one use for computers is to read e-books. One instructor of mine made her book available to her students in pdf format. I wish I had a tablet.
The first thing I thought of when I saw SAVs is soccer mom's crashing into light poles.
Funny thing is most general aviation airports can be accessed without even seeing a security guard.
You must tell your customers that you are using GPLed code.
You could always rent a foreign film from amazon on demand.

Perhaps people will stop posting incriminating evidence, but something tells me those photos of people plastered aren't going away.
