  1. Re:Think of the children on Sony Cracks Down On Sexually Explicit Content In Games (engadget.com) · · Score: 4, Interesting

I think Conan is created for both fantasies, just as Barbie is. I also think you are being sexist in assuming women do not fantasise about being beautiful and don't fantasise about well built men. And vice versa.

Anyone else find it gross when people call themselves "content providers?" Photographers used to be considered artists. Now they are described with the same terminology people use to refer to industrial machinery. I wonder if it's because the internet has made every artist into a mercenary. The expectation is that art should pay the bills, instead of being art for arts sake. I also wonder if this correlates with the general decline in the quality of art across nearly every medium.

  3. I mentioned all those things becuase they are all things that were proven after "decades of child psychology research." Do you think any of them are true? It sure sounds true when you say "decades of child psychology and research" have proven them though, huh? I can argue just fine. See what I'm doing right now? I'm responding to what you said with a rebuttal that adresses your point. Instead of just swearing at people for disagreing with me. Which is what you seem to think it is I guess?

  4. You are the one making an assertion, not me. Next you'll tell me video games make kids into murderers. Rap music makes people into cop killers, and D&D turns teenagers into wizards.

  5. Facebook is the new thing. You know the thing. The thing people want you to think about when they wail "wont somebody please think of the children!" It used to be video games, before that it was metal and rap music. Before that it was D&D. Before that it was swing dancing. Before that it was probably whistling or wearing fancy hats or something else ludicrous. You can tell when there's a new "thing" because people abandon all logic or rationality when they try and come up with ways to counter "thing."

  6. We have film and games ratings because moral busybodies and school marms kept saying "wont somebody PLEASE think of the children!" Not because watching Terminator 2 when you are 10 years old will "harm" you in any way.

  7. But seriously, get in on the ground floor of our new Stadia streaming gaming platform where we have control of all your games. You can trust us.

I love Minecraft but Why is this even news??

Because it's part of a wider and very worrying trend of tech companies deciding to expunge people from the record for wrongthink.

  9. Sexism doesn't require negative repercussions. It just required prejudice against a sex. Prejudice is defined as being a "preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience." For someone who has a faux dictionary definition in their sig I would suggest you try looking up the words you are talking about before you pretend to be an expert next time. SJW, n: "Someone who makes up definitions for words to suit their own prejudices."

  10. So because this guy did some violence no one else can be accused of doing some violence? How does that work in your head? Nothing justifies violence, you nutter. You should pay more attention to your sig quote. I don't think you've fully understood the meaning of it.

  11. I'm willing to bet the percentage of terrorists who use Facebook. Twitter, Youtube, etc is way higher than the ones who use 8chan. In any available metric. "Should be easy to show that they are significantly worse than other sites." Should be easy to hide your bias, but I guess finding the conclusion before you start researching is the done thing nowadays. I'm not even sure what you mean by "set up defenseively" but it sure does sound scary, huh. I guess that's the point though...

  12. Sure, but only if Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Whatsapp, Hotmail, Gmail, and all radio and TV broadcasts are also considered terrorit rectruitment sites. Otherwise it just seems like scapegoating and hypocrisy. Though that's pretty par for the course I guess.

It's entirely possible that there is some unknown issue that causes this to be completely unworkable. Or something we don't know that is a much easier and simpler way to travel through the stars.

Whatsapp is a messaging service. I don't want my messaging service telling me what their opinion is on the things I am discussing. Why do you care if people spread "misinformation?" If I want to learn more about something I can search for it myself. I don't need you getting involved. And especially not Facebook of all people. I can't wait untill Zuckerberg and his ilk are expunged from the public discourse entirely. I don't need billionaire multinational corperations telling me what is true or not. I wouldn't trust them to tell me what colour the sky is, let alone give me the "facts" on complex political or cultural matters.
