I like Jupiter now. I really do. We're buds! Pal around all the time, we do. Heh, heh. Yup, good ole Joopy, you know. That's what his friends call him. Heh, heh. Heh, Heh.
At which time future "intelligent" life use it up at unsustainable rates to power a new fangled invention called distance vision so they can watch re-runs of a comedy called "Cheers."
1) Dow makes magic algae. 2) Economic pressure forces Dow to make algae directly excrete ethanol in high concentrations (about 20%). 3) Algae gets into environment 4) Algae kills almost anything near it. 5) Algae lives on rotting stuff it killed. 6) Water around algae becomes flammable, sparked by lightning. Could be a banker. Has this theory been tested? Throw some taxpayer money at it. If it keeps it without lending it, whines about pay raise restrictions, then asks for more, we have our answer.
It's a price/performance issue. I read stuff on my current laptop with no problem. I can either buy a kindle because it's a little easier to read and has some extra battery life, or a tablet which is a full blown computer which is good enough for reading and comparably priced. Which would you choose? . Kindle's major engineering problem is the extra zero on the price tag. It's a one trick pony. Not worth it.
Driver incompatibility is a mortal (i.e. intentional) sin. Incompatibility of ANY sorts without an easy upgrade path is worse. I have a hard time understanding how Microsoft's management seems to miss this blindingly obvious point again and again and again and again..... . People don't want the next big thing. They want their current stuff to continue to work without disruptions.
By the time you have decent neural I/O, you'll have a world of simulators to choose from. Nobody's going to kidnap anybody if they can experience the same thing with a cheap simulation.
>If your moral values were gone, someone bent on evil could teach you the values he wanted you to have. . Wow! A talk radio revival could be in the works.
>Please give me a version that works for what I need to do. . LOL. Microsoft stopped responding to non-business users over a decade ago. . Seriously, if you're not selling widgets to wankers on the web, Microsoft would like to pretend you don't exist. This seems to hold especially true for Windows developers, not like I'm bitter or anything.
Hopefully, this results in MS making their OS either cheaper, or free and finding another way to make their money that doesn't suck. I expect them to sell space in a cloud OS like everyone else, by and by, since they too seem to share the hallucination of "always connected" internet.
That's a nice luxury if you can afford it. Many of us are neither artists nor wealthy enough to make those choices.
I'd also like to point out that you can love software development AND find the language that generates the most money. There's nothing mutually exclusive here. It's just a strategy.
Because it's not about which language is "best." It's about which is most cost-effective. Programming is either about money, or it's masturbation (not that there's anything wrong with that....). . When was the last time YOU made money with Haskell?
Well, I didn't say she *swallowed*. Still, a whale of a good time was had by all.

Thar she blows!

Uh, wait a minute....
Or just stupid? YOU Decide!

Hmmm. Well, let's throw 'em both. Can't be too safe.
Hey man, back off. Do you know how hard it is to get *good* acid in Alaska.
Why gray? I'd have guessed brown, cause, you know..like, most things are brown, until they add coloring.

What the heck do aliens have against Tokyo anyway?
.
Couldn't we invite some to Baltimore or Detroit or Washington D.C. or something?
Fixed that for you: ... why don't we throw a few bankers on it and see what happens.

In America, banks rob you.
There are girls out there waiting for corruption.

Add a little decrease in cost and a touch screen and the kindle dies a well deserved death. No loss.

Why would you believe in souls? Where does the program go when you turn it off? That great hard drive in the sky?

We have met the enemy and they are us! Charge! Interest! Damn the logic! Full Speed Ahead! Aaaaaaaaaaaagh!

And learn that. Programming is about money or it's mental masturbation (not that there's anything wrong with that!).
