    This pretty much THE case (esp. this cat bacteria which is very famous and mentioned multiple times all over the place) of a very interesting semi-symbiotic phenomena (host more aggressive ? more manly ? drawbacks also ? intriguing).

    Also, what always, kinda, shocks me is that, how no sufficient effort exist to really go in-depth about the bacterial influences on populations, and esp. on human population.

    I really think some bacteria are akin to hive-existence, having their agenda, methods, and the means to implement them. They make up an appreciable portion of biosphere and should be studied with much greater vigor.

    Seeing as some bacteria influece our perceptions of the world directly by manufactoring certain neurotransmitters, etc ?

    Well, this describes one type of internet user, and not a very productive one at that.

    There are many more things to pursue on the internet. Exchange of meaningful information. Reading science publications (on the topic you're interested in). Maintaining your own website, which may be meaningful and useful for plenty of people. Coding open source soft, which is impossible without the net. Etc.

    Just saying.

    In my opinion, we should see breakthrough in this area after carbon nano-materials become cheaply available.

    I have never thought about it, but apparently, a baloon with internal structure designed for optimum implosion resistance would be a revolutionary way to lift objects up to certain levels (depending on the payload) in the atmosphere.

    This is basic mercenary in action, and mercs are motivated by money too. Any "victim" of such caliber could outbid the merc and send him/her back on you, and it is not just movies.

    To accomplish what you propose, there's need to be ideologically motivated people, who are, actually, if combined with the required skillset, surprisingly hard to find...

    I am one of those bastards who actually can eat upwards (and more than, measured actually) 5000 kcal a day and not gain any (can walk barefoot with shorts in snow tho, no prob).

    Why the 2050s ? It is as arbitrary as any date range.

    It might appear tomorrow via some fluke breakthrough, and it may be (surprise) only realistically feasible in (space based, gravity based) stars, thus, we'd need to make a star of our own.

    And we already have one, for free to boot :P

    I don't know how big, but my guess would be non-engineerable in current day means (think Ringworld complexity and resources). Also, at that hypothetical resolution, I would guess cosmic dust (H+ ions) would severely obstruct your view. Just guessing based on my intuition - someone could calculate the theoretical mirror size needed for that, as say, for 1 telescope image pixel needed for 1 1 meter ET display. 500 meters ? I think not :P

    This problem is trivial. The real problem in this case is proper parsing of a sentence, which it seems different people have different ideas for. This is why I hate at least some english speakers - this absurdity would not arise in German, I bet :P

    girl girl pairing is ruled out by the stating of the problem itself. You keep forgetting this, and add gg prior to considering the true scope of the problem, which has no gg. This is what I think, and I think it correct. Seemingly, I am not the only one in this thread. The truth is, you cannot assign mothers here, it is inconvenient and irrelevant to the ACTUAL problem.

    Again, you keep forgetting that one of the boys, Tboy (Tuesday-born boy), is unique, and persistent.

    There are 4 groups, as per problem:

    Tboy boy
    boy Tboy
    Tboy girl
    girl Tboy
    each 1/4 prob which adds up to 1/2 for Tboy boy (ordering is irrelevant, only the sum matters). And Tuesday, is too, not relevant. Except as a convenient naming measure for the unique boy, Tboy.
