  1. But doesnt this only apply if... on Microsoft DRM To Get Even Tighter · · Score: 1

You actually purchase DRM laden files? I have about 4,300 songs in the old library (i wasnt smart enough to back my collection up before and the HD died) and WMP seems to work fine as long as there is no DRM involved. I get most of the music I own from e-music which I found through a mention of it on /. WMP isnt that bad but its not the best. I did however make the mistake of buying a song once through msn music...after that experience i said never again. One thing that is annoying...suddenly my portable device (ipaq 6315) has become obsolete and cant sync music? Come on Microsoft...its annoying to pop out the SD card and put that into the slot to sync when it goes to the same place.

Well, if you think that Mr. AWOL G.W. Bush who makes an appearance for political gains landing on an aircraft carrier is better, then well, can I have some of the kool aid too? The 1st 4 years were a joke and im supposed to believe that my Fellow Americans are so stupid as to re-elect him? If I start buying into that we are truly in trouble. It amazes me that fear and ignorance seem to be the main tool of Bush and his dogs, and the so-called patriots eat it up while he screws them @ the same time. Go Red States :|

Silly neo-con, have you lost your copy of the US Constitution? Why in the world is the military being used as crowd control. As people mentioned before, thats the job of police and domestic authorities. There have been situations where the national guard has been called in to support local law enforcement but as a rule, crowd control aint the job of the military. And I dunno why pfc numbnuts is being ordered to shoot his mom...maybe shes a control freak? Or is it you who wants to shoot your mother? Dun dun DUH!

they really arent that true. At least I wouldnt imagine for most slashdotters. Just seems to me they are appropriate for the average user which is the majority of people out there. Most people here seem to have the know-how to avoid average user pitfalls. Having used both for both private and professional use, I refer to macs as 'cute' but you wont find one anywhere in my house. I have work to do! And having seen high end mac editing rigs in action, im really not that impressed. Generally slower and crashes more than the equivalent pc, but final cut pro is so damn sweet! -just my 2cents i do find the commercials annoying but they did set up a great bit on the 'Daily Show'...so its a draw

  8. Re:Hmm. on BBC Reports UK-U.S. Terror Plot Foiled · · Score: 1
Personally, I think the memory of a True American goes much further back... Say to when that plot information was first known? from they article:
Most of the plots were previously reported in some form; a few were revealed yesterday. The White House had never before placed a number or compiled a public list of the foiled attempts to follow up the Sept. 11 attacks, but it offered scant information beyond the location and general date of each reported plot -- making it difficult to assess last night how serious or advanced they were or what role the government played in preventing them.
So what as an American am I supposed to believe about what the bush admin does? Some of the plots he talked about http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/pol/191072251.html date back to the 90's. Once could say that plot was known before 9/11. And Which makes one wonder with that sort of history, the level of 'security' being instituted now is quite over due. I say its logistically harder to plan an attack on US soil. Thats why. Not because out security is 'stopping' people when they claim to not have the foresight to understand vectors of attack that have already been used!

Well they are too busy speading fear and propaganda. I dont think they really have the time for these pesky investigations when they can find a buncha morons from Florida that couldnt tie their shoes much less be a threat to the US. They are still firing gay arabic translators which, really, really, confuses me cause like um...its national security, who cares? I guess the whole point of my post is that while other countries like the UK actually bust their asses to stop folks, the US just pays lipservice to it. I dont know what thats all about, maybe a fellow slashdotter will clue me in. One thing that makes me nervous about this is I hear a lot of chatter about adopting UK style intelligence laws...Anyone here think thats what really makes the difference?
