you cant compare Vista and OS X. you can compare Windows and OS X, or Vista and OS X 10.4 (or whatever the newest one is). the Vista numbers are undoubtably people switching from other Windows versions, not from Mac or Linux, whereas the Mac numbers are people switching to/from Mac in general.
but why do people have so much more of a problem with words like "fuck"? why should that be considered any different than "go to hell"?
perhaps it's because we dont use these words casually that they have so much more of an effect, and if we stopped giving them special emotional status the problem would resolve itself.
Einstein wasnt doing the work on EPR to further our knowledge of the universe, or anything like that. he was doing it specifically to discredit quantum physics, by showing the absurd conclusions that naturally flowed from it. he had made up his mind already, and wouldnt budge, showing a clear bias againstly any new-fangled theories that would shake his perception of reality (which is quite ironic, since he was on the other side of the fence just a few decades prior).
now i dont mean any disrespect to Einstein (as i'm clearly not worthy to do so), but i personally think his work with quantum physics is a rather dark spot on his personality.
and for those who dont have the time to read the paper...
it works by avoiding running during the exact moment of a clock tick (which would be the moment when CPU usage per-process is checked). to start running immediately after a clock tick is (apparently) easy, but to stop before the next tick is harder. the paper suggests using some kind of get_cycles assembly instruction to count how many CPU cycles there are per clock tick, and use that number to gauge when the next clock tick is going to occur by counting how many CPU cycles have elapsed.
you know what's odd? everyone always hears "gimp is hard to use" blah blah blah, but the other day i tried to use photoshop for the first time... and i couldnt figure it out. for one: how do i zoom in by more than 1x at a time? 2. where the hell is the bucket fill button? 3: how in god's name do i set the transparency of a color?
i couldnt figure it out. and i had to go back to the gimp. that's my story. hope you enjoyed it.
you can already get the source for OpenJDK 7 here. it's just the JDK, though, as far as i know. i'm also not sure if OpenJDK is technically the same thing as the regular JDK.
there's a theory that our universe budded from another universe. i guess in that case, you could consider "before the big bang" as any time in our parent universe when our universe didnt exist. (avoiding the word "yet").
that's odd. the linux.com article covering the same event made it sound like the kernel team thought it was a good thing that there were more developers, and the work was more spread out.

It's really all come down to games for me. If my games would all run on Linux I'd be there tomorrow.
this is the reason my desktop is still XP also. it's become not much more than a gaming console. but you'd be surprised how many good, native linux games there are. i was (recently). check out the linux gamers live cd.
except, i already have the drivers. they came with the doohickey. contacting MS for them should be a user-selected option.

Of course, what choice do they have if they want/need to run Windows? If enough of the system monitors your usage and activity, not using those services pretty much makes your computer a brick.
if the OS can function without an internet connection, it damn well better be able to function on a firewall that blocks access to MS servers.

all that at only 20lbs!
oh cmon, you couldve have typed that without knowing it would be taken out of context.

you, sir, are apparently the last person i should be listening to about HTML.
it's a joke. laugh.
and that has something to do with his personality... how?
just a script kiddy? i wouldve expected more from someone who TYPES IN ALL CAPS
now all i need is an update button on the homepage, and i never have to refresh again :)
i'm sorry, i have to disagree.

i knew that name sounded familiar.
dupe, sort of.
it's already been tested, and passed. years ago.
:-/
while we're wasting time, let's test relativity theory
and einstein had little to nothing to do with it. he didnt even believe in it. "spooky action at a distance" was meant as a derogatory term.

in vista? i know that's true in prior versions, but GGP's quote implied that it was different in Vista.

there's a good emo joke in here somewhere.
well, the question is, was this music under contract, and does that apply to the UK?
