PS2 Forever! I'm always on the look out for PS games and have been rather disappointed with the stuff that's come out (trying PS Universe now). And to top it off... there has been a remake: Phantasy Star Generation 2. At this point, I can't find anything that says will be released in America so Japan gets to get the re-release! ARGH!

Lets not forget Ultima VII. First game that offered a way to earn money without dungeon crawling: Making bread! I remember crashing the game from making too many loaves: you get 1 gold for each loaf, made over 300, had a memory overflow.

I agree with Mindstalker about remastering the video but I personally would not like to hear "new" sound effects (re-touch but don't alter the current ones). Mainly, I want a medium better than VHS. Yes I still have my VHS originals, released right before the remastered, altered ones. I worry for their quality though.

Your statement is true only if the company needs to constantly be in contact with you (e.g. CEOs, Bosses, roving IT) but if there is no need for constant communication then they won't. For example, if I work in the mail room, why would they want to give me a cell phone. It would be just additional cost. The final solution would be no cell service at work... doable but not a positive morale booster.

You would most likely need at lest 3 repeaters: GSM, iDEN, and CDMA. That's just for cell phones, one for each major technology (I don't know what Virgin Mobile uses, probably one of the above; doesn't take into account actual satellite phones).

I wonder if anyone else sees the irony of the statement above. To write laws, to understand laws... one must have a background (i.e. degree) in law. Weren't laws meant for everyone, including those of us with no understanding of legalese? I don't post as a rebuke or rebuttal Fastolfe's statement, just an observation... laws are no longer written to be understood by the common man.

    I am saddened.

  9. Re:Because no one wants a radically new game. on Halo 3 'Feels' Like Halo 1 · · Score: 1

Halo brought multiplayer FPS action to the mass console market. And by multiplayer, I mean full online games, not single system games. This was strongly supported by the XBox Live service but also allowed networked games so even in a single location, you could very easily set up a fairly large Halo game.

Besides which, not all those games you mentioned necessarily were the first to bring something forth... Have you ever played System Shock 2? You want creep factor... that game just freaks me out especially late at night with the lights off.... And F.E.A.R. has awesome graphics NOW but in a year or two it will be no better than Halo is now....

Ironically, I did look it over (that's how I even got referenced to this thread). I spoke mostly from my own experience (as is the only thing I can do). I didn't assume your line "Brasilian since 1970 :-)" meant you were in Brasil (there are some up here too, in fact two of my coworkers are Brazillian [one for 6 yrs]). Up here, btw, refers to Massachusetts, US. As for phones, you might still be able to get some useful info. The site I quoted before does carriers... try Cingular & T-mobile phones: they are GSM and you may be able to find unlocked versions of the phones or instructions on how to unlock them.

  11. Re:Isn't Verizon CDMA? on Kids with Cell Phones, How Young is Too Young? · · Score: 1

Yes, they are CDMA. As for buying the phone, it get get expensive without a contract. I want to say the full retail cost (as far as a VZW store) was between $150 and $200. Besides which, they would have to sell you on the service as well which would be contracted. What has your current provider offered you in the way of a preprogrammable phone? What service(s) would you be willing to go with if you had to switch? Beyond VZW, I would have to do some research. One website you can try, if you aren't already aware of it is PhoneScoop. You can search for phones buy manufacturer or by carrier. It can be time consuming to go through a bunch of phones for each carrier but is one method of researching it.

Umm... I don't know if you have seen it yet but I know Verizon Wireless offers a phone that's locked to 4 preprogrammed numbers and emergency services that also includes GPS tracking service with it (service may be extra). You can track online or on your Verizon Wireless phone. The phone is called the Migo (LG VX1000). While I personally thing it's not attractive, it is very simple to operate for the child. Also, when you have another Verizon Wireless cell phone, calling between the two is free. I can't speak for any other services as I have never worked for any other service (2.5 yr stint in a VZW store as tech support).

I'm sorry but the fact that they know the spammer bought the gold and platinum is not proof of WHERE he hid it. Of course, I can't say with 100% assurance that they don't have this info but from what I have read in the article, I side with the family. I still believe that one is innocent until proven, without a reasonable doubt, that they are guilty.

Your aerial radar suggestion though I do applaud as it is perfectly viable and is less invasive then just walking up with a shovel and digging. You may still run up against Privacy Advocates but is a much more reasonable compromise for the two sides.

Nature can't be put back the way it was if they are going to use the means Mrs. Hawkes describes was in the letter (i.e. Bulldozers). If I had some land, especially if it was already landscaped they way I wanted it, I would be horribly upset if some large corporation came in and said they wanted to dig it up. Also, I didn't see anything in the article pointing to evidence that the bars are buried at the parents home. They only have proof he bought them. They have no right to demand excavation rights. They have no right on the parents' land at all. Show me reasonable evidence that it's been buried there and I may change my mind.
