I'm just a lowly A+ in training, but it seems to me that anything more than 1.5x your physical RAM is counterproductive as it means a lot more read/write cycles over the course of any given period. 1.5x is what everyone i know uses and i've never known any more to impact performance in a beneficial way.
Does she include the films in that? I think it's widely accepted that The Wrath of Khan explores the human condition far better than any of the latter series.
Don't think this has been reported yet.
BBC: Microsoft has confirmed that Japanese firm Toshiba will make its portable media player - "Zune" - to be released before the end of the year.

and no, i didn't rtfa.
I'm not entirely sure i have faith in the 'This just ups the game for AMD' argument since their stopgap measure, the 4x4 platform just seems like a bad idea.
The C2D looks great and is now at a very reasonable price, but do we really need it? Speaking as someone who is still on sktA, can we really expect businesses and home users to buy into it when a ~2 year old machine still handles pretty much most things you can throw at it. I'm all for progress, but i think that at this point Moore's law has outstripped our need.
An 11 year old, with no prior experience in locks and clearly little interest in it not only attends the Defcon Hacker Convention, but takes the time to furnish us with a demonstration. The event took place from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th. Does she honestly have nowhere better to be?
I may be way off base here, but did the Lunar landings not take soil samples? (for want of a better word)
Even with the relatively limited technology we had back then, i'd have thought it would be easier to tell what it was made of from actually being on it.
n.b: this is all contingent on the belief that the Lunar landings weren't a conspiracy.
It's certainly a very good idea if they can pull it off well. Say i'm watching The Simpsons or something with dinner - 5 tech adverts (say IBM, Dell, Intel, 1&1 and Microsoft) would be a hell of a lot more useful to me and likely most/.'ers than 5 generic adverts (Tampons, toilet paper, Audi, Budweiser, M&S).
My only real concern is whether they'll be implemented in a Tivo-like manner - where if i watch one episode of Will & Grace, it assumes i'm gay and records Queer eye for the Straight Guy for me.

Google clearly doesn't think it's a crime. Then again, Google will provide you with furniture porn if you ask it nicely.
