    Nope.

I find for many people morals are dictated by consequence. When its just so damn easy to go to suprnova.org and download whatever you want with virtually 0 chance of beeing caught..people tend to do it.

This mostly really applies to lesser things for most people. Stuff like this, or speeding, etc. If cops didn't enforce speeding ever, everyone would just go whatever speed THEY felt safe at. Not what speed the law says.

    Steam clone maybe...

But the problem is the contents of the installation CD is encrypted. When you install, after the files are copied the program contacts valve for the key to decrypt the files. If valve is gone, the files remain encrypted forever, and you cant patch a cd.

Yes but you're talking like we can modulate laser at high frequency. The only real way to do this is fiber optics that i know of, using a phase shift modulator. We cant turn a diode on and off near fast enuf to take advantage of the bandwidth a 500+ THz carrier. We arent really using it like RF.

Other than in fiber optics, its pretty hard to modulate a laser really quickly. In fiber optics the phase shift style modulator just splits the laser into two fiber cables and using a field we phase shift one of the lines by 180 degrees for an off, and no phase shift for an on.

Not sure if we could re-collimate the laser light after putting it through the modulator.

Look at Q3A. It is basically multiplayer only..what if ID takes its auth server offline? All the copies are useless.

I realize there are cracked servers but ignore that for now.

What is the moral difference of requiring activation to play on someones (not ID's) server, and playing locally.

You should argue no activation at all, or activation for everything.

Its only because PC users do more things with their pc that might require upgrades. It doesnt make the mac have any longer longevity, it just means they limit themselves more as to their activities so they dont have to upgrade.
